At the Superbowl party we went to, they made buffalo chicken mini-meatballs and those went really fast. So good. They were just ground chicken mixed with breadcrumbs, frank's red hot, and chili flakes and she served them with a side of blue cheese for dipping. So yummy.
@busterbluth: Must have been a good year for Super Bowl food, because I saw this thread and thought of some delicious chicken cordon bleu bites I had the other night. So good! Chicken breast cut up into cubes, stuffed with a little piece of ham and some cheese and then breaded. Oooh yum!
I love anything cheese so what about individual cheese balls and crackers? Like quarter size.
We have people over a lot and I always do cheese, crackers & soprasatta, veggies & dill dip, pigs in a blanket (they go the fastest), chips & salsa. I don't normally get too fancy because I like things to be easy and I don't want a lot of fuss while people are over. Our new years parties usually involve a ham with mustards, etc.
For the superbowl, we had a bunch of people over and our friends GF made these delishious baked appetizers. But she was stuck in our kitchen for like an hour because they had to be made a la minute and served hot so she missed a lot of the game.
I would come just for the cranberry margaritas! For apps I would keep it simple, although the buffalo chicken meatballs sound awesome.
allrecipes.com has some great app recipes.
I like to keep it simple-Guacamole, veggies & dip, hummus and pita chips, mini meatballs, wings
Are you going out to dinner? or just to a bar/club? If you're going out to dinner I'd keep it super light like cheese and crackers and veggies and dip. If not you can get more creative. What about a warm spinach and artichoke dip with crackers or toast points, buffalo chicken dip, mushroom caps, etc? thepioneerwoman.com has some great app recipes.
We definitely want easy stuff! Pigs in a blanket sounds so easy! Not something I would usually make, either, Thanks!
@Corgi, I think we're going to a piano bar, but there are no plans to do dinner. I don't want to throw my own party AND expect people to shell out money to attend, haha.
I'm leaning towards meatballs with veggie sticks (and homemade ranch--seriously 5 ingredients and delish), rotel dip+chips, these pigs, and maybe some toasted ravioli?
We need stuff with substance, ya know? haha.
@ejs4y8: mmm rotel dip. i agree with substance if you're not doing dinner. could you maybe do skewers of grilled chicken as well? my mom makes that for parties a lot... she cuts it in thin strips and marinates it in olive oil and various spices and then skewers it and cooks it. its really good as a "base" for all the junk and alcohol you'll inevitably consume haha.
when my girlfriends and I get together we usually have a bit of an italian themed spread going on...last time we had proscuitto bread, rosemary bread, a cheese platter w/brie, taleggio, etc, olives, a salad, pepperoni bread, a frittata, and a little salami/antipasto type of thing
when i do the same stuff w/my guy friends I make wings, mini meatball subs, sausage & peppers, and have loads and loads of chips and dip out.

I'm throwing my own birthday party (because I'm tacky like that) and am having drinks and appetizers at my house before we all go out. I think there'll be like 7 of us? Not sure.
What should I feed everyone?!?!
I was leaning towards cranberry margaritas to drink =]
