A day after I applied for a particular job (which I’d really like to interview for), I was sent an invitation to complete a small questionnaire about projects I’ve worked on…1 day after applying? That seems really quick to me…
And on top of that I can see that (with another job I applied to) my LinkedIn profile was viewed first by someone in the department and (a day later) by a director at the company. You guys think that’s a good thing, too?? I’m dumbfounded…
Good vibes? How important are these questionnaires? I’ve never done one before.

They’re pretty standard where my DH works!

@jpalm13: My guess is that it is a standard step in their hiring process. Good luck! Hope you get the job 🙂

@BrandNewBride: They asked that I fill it out by Monday. I’m guessing its better if I do it today?
@QueenieB: Thanks! DH thinks its too far but itd be a 30 minute drive for me in the area we’re looking for houses at. I think it’d be fine. I’m going to go through the process as much as I can. For all I know, they suck, won’t pay enough or hire me at all- right?

Any company that I worked at required that applicants get a certain passing score to even consider them hireable. Not to put the pressure on, but a lot of companies do take those seriously.

Why would you think it wasn’t important? Why would they send it to you if it wasn’t? Don’t you want to give a good impression?

Considering it’s a questionnaire before they’ve even offered you an interview, I’d say it’s pretty important. And yes, I’d get it done today. Do not do it over the weekend or wait until the last day on Monday. When did you receive the questionnaire?

@Sunflower–girl: Since I’ve never been asked to complete one of these, I was hoping for a little guidance on what HR looks for with it. There are two questions in the questionnaire. I don’t doubt that it is important. I was looking for a “this will make or break you” or “this is just something that they couldn’t get from a resume but you’ll probably still get an interview.”
@jny1179: I received it late last night. The person who emailed me actually sent me a response to the wrong posting and then emailed me about an hour later with the correct one. I just got home a few minutes ago and am going to complete it in the next few minutes. Only two questions- go figure haha
