Our wedding is April 28th and we are planning to go on our honeymoon right after the wedding, May 1st. I'm not sure what spots have nice weather that time of the year, so I need ideas!!! Where are you planning to go ladies?
We're going to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
Isn't the weather fairly good anywhere in the North Hemisphere in May? Other than possibly India and some parts of Africa where it's far too hot.
@thisismariana: We're date twins!! We are spending so much cash on this wedding that a honeymoon may not be in the cards... I just wanted to say hey to a date twin. lol
@thisismariana: I'm almost looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding (and the road-trip we have planned for 2013).
@thisismariana: @basketballwifetobe: I'm a date twin too! We are going to try to go right after the wedding as well. We're planning a trip to Paris and Italy. I hear May is pretty touristy in Paris, but not so bad in Italy. The weather is supposed to be nice in both places though!
we are waiting till June to go on ours, we'll be going to Bermuda.
Unfortuantely we are waiting till September to go on ours so I'm no help... just wanted to say hey to the other April 2012 bees! =)
We're teachers getting married over spring break so we are honeymooning out west in July - well we roadtrip in July anyway, but we're making a special stop in Vegas. I have heard (but not confirmed) that you can honeymoon there anytime within a year of your marriage.
Our wedding is April 7th and we are going on the honeymoon around 12th April. My passport expired in November so i've re-applied and should have a new one after the new year so then we'll be able to make a booking. But we're hoping to go to some part of Asia, Thailand, Bali, Singapore are the top faves at the mo (we're travelling from New Zealand), we can't wait!
Oh and because i've had to apply for a new passport we thought it best to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and have my name changed prior to the new passport as this would mean I wouldn't have it under my old name for the next 5 yrs of our marriage so when my passport arrives it will have my future husbands surname on it....very cool idea we thought! He's already calling me future Mrs Hemming already lol
We're waiting a month and going to Spain, Italy and France. We wanted the weather to be a little better.
We are going to Central Oregon. Pretty sure it will be snowy but we both like snow sports and were looking for a relaxing romantic place we have never been too that wouldn't eat up too much of our trip with travel time to or from.
Everyone has such great destinations! We'll be staying in the Finger Lakes (where our DW is happening) at our vacation home for a week or so. Its a great time of year to be in that area and I cannot imagine planning anything else at this point.
In the Fall, we are planning to go to Spain with some of our good friends. Can't wait!
We switched it and we are going on a 5 day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.
We're going to Gatlinburg also :) It's nearby, my boss will be out on maternity leave so I couldn't take much time off. We're going to the beach later in the summer as well. Also where we fell in love and where he proposed, seems appropriate!

We have been living in Mexico for 6 months and will be heading back to Ontario for our wedding. We haven't picked our honeymoon spot yet. We travel a lot already so we want to find a place that will be new to us. For a quick trip, maybe Belize (it's not far from where we live) or maybe a big trip to Thailand. It will depend on our budget at the time.
Has anyone ever been to Belize or Thailand? Please let me know your experiences.
we havent booked ours yet, but are leaning toward Jamacia (might have spelled that wrong..)
Will know tomorrow for sure (FI has his US visa appointment tomorrow) If everything works out, we'll do Moorea-Bora Bora. And since I am confident and wishing with all my heart it will be like that we haven't planned anything else. Please send us your good vibes!!
We get married April 14th and leave the 16th for a south caribbean cruise. When I get stressed I look up reviews and pictures, so excited!
We are also getting married on April 28th & we booked our honeymoon to the Bahamas. :) we leave on that Tuesday-Tuesday. Staying right next to the Atlantis. Good Luck!!
All of these trips sound amazing! We are going to Disney World a few days after the wedding for 10 nights. We have always talked about taking a trip there, but just never got around to it. I figure Disney won't be tooo bad since spring break will be over and school won't be out yet. I'm excited though!!
We're getting married April 14th, and we are going the next day to Playa Mujeres in Mexico!! I'm so excited! The weather won't be too much different than what we're used to in Texas, but it will be nice to get away and be near the ocean! :)
@missmary82: my sister went to Disney for her Honeymoon, she said it was the best time she's ever had!! :)
@o0olibelulao0o: That's what I'm hoping for!! FI can't stand the sun and heat of a beach type place, he's fair skinned, and he HATES flying, so going out of the country wasn't even something we thought of. We are kids at heart! Where did your sister stay when she went?
@missmary82: That I'm not sure... It was 8 years ago though, so things have probably changed a little bit. I don't think you can go wrong at any of the places though!
Well, since my fiance is from the west coast of Canada we'll be going out there to see his family and have a ring ceremony about a week after we are married. Then we're doing a road trip on the way back into Ontario... I have never been out of province, so this is exciting for me! ;)
@o0olibelulao0o: i live only 3 hours from playa mujeres (cancun) and still enjoy going there for vacation. same weather but i think it's the fact that i didn't have to cook dinner :)
Our honeymoon will be a complete surprise to me. My future husband is planning the whole thing. I guess I'll let you know after I get back where we ended up! I'm hoping for NYC, a scenic part of California, or Vegas!
@mypinkshoes: I have been to Belize! I was there during June....and let me tell you, the humidity was insane in the membrane. But the water was sooooo beautiful. We were on the Ambergris Caye, so you pretty much got around via golf carts, which was a total blast. It's a super fun place, just the humidity was a little intense.
Technically a March bride but leaving for the HM in April...we're leaving for St. Lucia on April 4th, will be back home on the 12th. Isn't it April yet???
My fiancee and I will be getting married on April 6 (Good Friday) on Tybee Island, then will be leaving out the next morning to go to an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We took a weeklong Caribbean cruise last summer and it was amazing, but we wanted to do something different for our honeymoon. I can't wait!!!
We're going to Europe (which won't be warm) but I will tell you we were in Mexico last May (around the middle) and it was hot (around 95). Look at places you're interested in and then google their weather for that time of year.
