What are you most excited about?

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?

MrDane has been so understanding and accommodating lately :)  He also talks to my belly, and I love that he is bonding with our baby.  Seeing how excited he is helps me realize that I have a wonderful partner in this adventure and I'll always feel supported.

What are you most excited about?

I have another u/s tomorrow, so I'm definitely excited about that!  I'm looking forward now to seeing more movement through my belly, getting to meet our baby and find out if we have a boy or girl.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

I learned yesterday during a bout with a tummy bug that when you throw up, you pee a little bit at the same time :(  That was a rather unpleasant surprise!

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Ugly ass gray slip ons.  So ugly, but SOOO comfy!

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

I once participated on horseback in a longhorn cattle drive.  I was so excited, but a little bit scared since the bulls we were driving had GIGANTIC horns!  It was so, so cool to be a part of that.  (I lived in Iowa for a couple of years and did a lot of trail/leisure riding, but this popped up one weekend and I jumped at the chance to be there!)

Also, here's my 24 week pic:

Im going to be the only one soon on TBD!! Can you move me onto Team Green next time please as we have decided we dont want to find out the gender :)

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?

He has been really sweet lately and arranges my pillow for me before i get into bed to make sure im comfortable.

When he leave for work in the morning he kisses my forhead then kisses my belly and says daddys going to work now- look after mummy.

What are you most excited about?

Excited about the 3rd trimester. Its getting close now! Also excited to finish decorating the nursery.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

Nosebleeds do not make driving easy and... When you gotta pee, you gota pee!

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Black boots wih buckles on the sides.

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

I once danced in front of the Queen at her majestys Royal Theatre London for our young performers 2000 competition.

I have cooked with Jean Christophe Nuvelli, Michelle Roux Senior and Raymond Blanc whilst at college.

    Hooray for a new thread!

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?
My sweet hubby has been soooo amazing.  We went Christmas shopping the other day and he drove around FOREVER tryning to find a close parking spot and said it was so I didn't have to walk that far.  He talks to the baby all the time and always has his hands on my belly on the off chance he'll be able to feel the baby move.

What are you most excited about?
My ultrasound in a few weeks.  I've gotten soooo spoiled getting to see my little guy so much and I miss him when I can't.  Plus, I want reassurance that his brain cyst is gone.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?
I was unaware that coughing during pregnancy can be a risky little game.  I have almost puked and almost peed just about every time I've had a coughing fit with this darn bronchitis.  It's not a fun game.  But, at least I'm winning as I have yet to do either.  Yet.

What shoes are you wearing right now?
Tall brown flat boots.  Love them!

Tell us something we don't already know about you:
I met my husband online (eHarmony) less than a month after moving to a new place where I didn't know anyone.  I moved to SC from TN for a job completely by myself without knowing a soul.  I came home lonely from my best friends wedding and signed up.  I was matched with my husband a few days later and never looked back.  Best $60 I've ever spent!  Oh, and for the longest time we lied about how we met.  My sisters didn't know the real story until our wedding.  We told everyone we met in the bread aisle at the grocery store!

And, here's my 23 week picture!

@ChocolateLime:  You've decided NOT to find out the gender?  Soooo cool to have another Team Green mommy (and I'm pretty sure I can still just edit the OP)

and DUDE- you performed in front of the QUEEN!?!?!?  How cool is that?

Also, I read your braxton hicks question in the previous thread- yes I have had 2 or 3 of them, and to me it basically feels like a tight squeezing in my uterus.  It get super hard, and feels like it's almost lifting a bit.  It's not painful, but uncomfortable.

    Mrs. Aardvark    April 14, 2012

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond? Mr. Aardvark is a rockstar. Not only did he pull all the weight around the house during the first Tri when I was a puke machine on the sofa, but he has been super on the ball with all of our home buying stuff and getting ready to move. Also he made me peanutbutter toast and hot coco for dinner last night :)

What are you most excited about? Finally looking pregnant! Also setting up the nursery. I love seeing what everyone has posted here and can't wait to dive in. Just a few more weeks! And of course, meeting this little wiggle worm and finding out who they are.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first? Some baby kicks make me have to pee RIGHT NOW

What shoes are you wearing right now? A pair of brown slouchy boots that I got for myself as a college graduation present years ago.

Tell us something we don't already know about you: I miss roller derby. It's too bad  too because I feel like there are more days now, that I am pregnant, when just knocking someone down would do a lot to improve my mood. Also I hate olives.

@Candy_Nee:  Oooh, lovely bump!  I love that you told people you met on the bread aisle!  Hahah, that is a sweet story :)

@Mrs. Aardvark:  I think Roller Derby is awesome- and even though I played rugby in college I am still too much of a chicken to try the Derby.  I also hate olives.

@DaneLady:  Cattle Drive!? That is so cool. I used to ride a bit as a kid but that would be so scary!

@ChocolateLime:  YAY for more team greenies! :) And I am very impressed that you danced in front of the queen... If I had to dance in front of any dignitaries I would probably lose my citizenship because the U.S. would be ashamed to claim me!

@Candy_Nee:  I totalyl hear you on the coughing! I almost lost my lunch this weekend during a coughing jag... It was bad news.

@DaneLady:  Cattle Drive?!  Wow - very impressive!  Your bump is looking fab!!  Yeah, we were a little embarrased at how we really met so we made up the lame story that everyone believed.  So we just went with it.

@ChocolateLime:  You performed for the queen?!  Holy cow!!!!!

@Mrs. Aardvark:  Roller Derby - you girls are hardcore and I love it!  Yeah the couging is no bueno.  I have almost lost my breakfast several times on my drive into work.  On the interstate.  Super safe.

@Candy_Nee:  During the first tri, I kept a grocery bag in the car, withing arm's reach in case I had to puke before I could get the car stopped. Yeahhhhh. And I think it is super cute that you "spilled the beans" about how you met to your sisters at your wedding.

@Mrs. Aardvark:  That is a great idea!  I should keep one in my car just in case.  Yeah, we had several moments of spilling the beans at funny times.  I was at a bar after a bridal shower in my hometown and a friend told me that she was having a really rough time with her boyfriend and was thinking about breaking up with him.  And how it was just so wonderful and fate that I met my soon to be husband in the bread aisle at the grocery store at a time in my life where I really needed that.  I felt bad that she was using me as an example and had to come clean.  I was like "um, yeah, we sort of met online.  Not nearly as romantic"  It was hilarious!  For the record, her and the BF are now married and pregnant too!

@Candy_Nee:  DH and I also met online and we also lied about it for a long time. The problem is, we don't remember who knows the truth and who still believes the lie we made up (that we met in a local pub), so we just generally try to avoid the topic at all costs!

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?

DH LOVES touching my belly. He rubs my belly and talks to the baby saying things like, "I love you, baby!" He also gets so much joy out of feeling the baby kick. It's all very adorable.

What are you most excited about?

Getting to meet this little creature! Starting/finishing the nursery.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

When I have to pee I have to pee NOW. Last night I left work and went straight to the bookstore to pick up part of my mum's gift. I peed right before I left work and the store is about five minutes away. By the time I got there and was standing in line to pay I had to pee again and quite urgently. I texted my BFF to say that they should have a special line for pregnant women with full bladders!

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Black leather riding boots with silver hardware.

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

    Hmmmm......

Back in 2004, I spent two months in India studying yoga my "guru."

I refuse to leave a party until the cake has been served :)

Now that he's home, he looks after me with back scratches and rubs - cleans up after the animals with no {well, minimal} complaints & always lets me decide if I feel 'up' to things. He's stepping up, I'm so excited to see him become a dad.

What are you most excited about?

I just want to meet her. So, so badly.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

I think my body likes being pregnant? I feel well, not ill at all - even from the first trimester onwards. The only thing that people haven't exaggerated for me was the insane tiredness.

What shoes are you wearing right now?

The daggiest summer sandals I own. My feet seem to be getting wider.

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

Well, I'm compulsively early for things & I have a really awkward habit of babbling when I get nervous... which is all the time. ;)

    And here was Week 22.

DH has been super sweet & excited about the baby. He often refers to the baby & I as his 2 favorite girls, and he's always putting his hand on my belly to feel her moving around.  I also score the occasional backrub and he has completely taken over all of the bathroom cleaning.

What are you most excited about?

We just booked our 3d/4d ultrasound for January 12th. I can't wait to see the baby again and finally have a positive ultrasound experience!

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

I didn't expect to start feeling winded so easily this early in the pregnancy. (It started  at 22 weeks) My mom friend said that its because the baby is starting to put pressure on my diaphragm.  I also didn't expect to start grunting every time I stand up this early lol.

What shoes are you wearing right now?

    Uggs - so comfy!

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

My DH & I make homemade beer & wine, and I LOVE zombie movies - the cheesier the better!

DH has been helping more with cooking & cleaning without me having to ask which is so nice. And he always checks with me before finishing the milk.

What are you most excited about?

I'm excited to go home next month to see my family and they will get to see me pregnant. And my sister is throwing me a shower. I also can't wait to finally meet this little one and find out boy/girl.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

Just how fast it can change and grow.

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Socks, I just took off my snow boots when I got home.

My DH and I also met online. When people asked I used to just name the restaurant we met at, but now most people know. Although we do have an elaborate story about how we met, but I can't keep a straight face when he tells people.

@ChocolateLime:  I'm glad your going to be team green! I can't believe you danced for the queen, that is awesome.

Two more days of work to go. I can do this. *chugging along*

Hi ladies! I hope I'm not too late to join in all the chatting :) I posted on the very first thread and then my irrational worrying took over and I stuck with lurking...

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?

DH is the best! He falls asleep with his hand on my belly every night and our little wiggle worm puts him to sleep! Also, I have restless legs really bad and several times I've woken up to him rubbing my feet/calves because he catches me tossing and turning in my sleep ;)

What are you most excited about?

Meeting our little girl. I get more excited everyday, and had my first baby dream a few nights ago. It's made me so anxious to meet her, it's not even funny!

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

I've learned that I apparently carry exactly like girl mommies stereotypically do? EVERYONE who finds out I'm pregnant immediately tell me they think it's a girl based on my body and they are all right! LOL. Also, I LOVE being pregnant. I definitely see why women have more than one child. I'm having a great time :)

What shoes are you wearing right now?

No shoes! Just got in from work and those are the first things to go!

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

Well, you don't know anything about me, cause I'm a newbee.... My DD is 4/25, expecting a little girl, and we love the fact that she's a (surprise!) honeymoon baby.

Also, a random about myself, when I first moved to Orlando, FL for college, I worked as a character for Disney World- it was so much fun :)

He painted the nursery for me and made some touch ups the following day because there were some spots that weren't quite up to my standards.  It's hard when a Type A personality (me!) has the control taken away when doing such important things like painting the nursery.  He was very sweet and did the touch ups with any complaints. :)

What are you most excited about?

I cannot wait to meet my little man.  And I'll really be excited when DH and I can finally agree on a name for him.  So far, that isn't going so well.  I might have had a breakdown, or two, during naming discussions.  These pregnancy hormones are brutal!

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

I had no clue that starting at an early 23 weeks (will be 25 weeks tomorrow) that I would find it difficult to get off of our sofa.  I thought I had more time before that would happen.  My body is already not dealing well with the extra weight in the middle.

What shoes are you wearing right now?

My work shoes - black and steel toed.  I don't need steel toed shoes anymore since I'm not around the heavy items anymore (I work at a manufacturing company in the HR/Customer Service areas) but I didn't want to buy new shoes.  I'd rather spend my money on non-work shoes or baby stuff.

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

I used to be pretty good at tumbling.  When I was in junior high I won the state championship for my age/level for tumbling.  I ended up quitting because of stupid reasons and I wish I wouldn't have.

@Mrs. Jaguar:  That will be so much fun to put all together! I'm jelous that you are almost done work, although I do have quite a few days off over the holidays and I have a week off in January.

@DaniRoo:  Glad to see you and that you are not lurking now!

An update on me: I went back to work on Monday. It is hard sitting at my desk all day, so I just get up a lot. I'm sore still, but it is getting better and I'll just have to live with it. I take my hot water bottle to work. They are writing off my car, so now I just have to hear from insurance and negotiate some money to buy something. I went to see my car last night to get my things out of it and actually took a good look and I just can't believe the damage. I should of taken a picture.

I can't believe we are onto another thread already! We must be a chatty bunch!

I decided to take some measurements tonight and had a bit of a shock! pre pregnancy my measurements were 25 inch waist and 32B Bust, well i am now a whopping 35 inch waist and according to my bust measurements a 36D!! not that the above picture looks anything like that but the numbers dont lie haha!

My belly hasnt grown out much in the last week or so but has definately got wider and spread more round the sides.

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond? My FI works his butt off so that I can be a stay at home mommy to my younger 2 kids. I can't thank him enough for every minute he spends away from us, but for us, and every beautiful second we are blessed to spend together as a family. <3

What are you most excited about? I can't wait to see my soon to be DH hold his first child, our son, for the first time. It will be such a priceless moment.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first? This is my 3rd time around the block. Nothing new besides still getting randomly nauseous, which didn't happen with the other babes.

What shoes are you wearing right now? Barefoot for me!

We are moving this weekend...he is going above and beyond trying to get everything ready for the big move, I am trying to do as much as I canby packing, but I won't be doing much heavy lifting. Along with that, we will be painting the new house, something that I won't be participating in either.

What are you most excited about?

Now that we know the gender, I am ready to meet her! I guess before that I am excited to start planning her nursery and having the baby shower.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

It's great to start feeling the movements, DH got to feel them for the first time just last week. Now I feel her everyday.

What shoes are you wearing right now?

No shoes, back from work and my feet are kicked up on the couch :)

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

The last three winters, DH and I have been ski club chaperons for a local middle school. We are not doing that this year (since I won't be able to snowboard). I will be missing our weekly trips to go snowboarding.

Praise your SO!  Have they done anything lately to make this journey easier for you, or have they gone above & beyond?

Dh has been great!  He's been awesome about taking care of me while I've been recovering from a cold and has helped me decorate for Christmas this past week, because I'm still feeling exhausted/coughing/etc.

What are you most excited about?

Meeting our little guy!  We can't wait.

Have you learned anything new about pregnancy or your body in the second trimester that you didn't know in your first?

That coughing/sneezing (really hard) sucks when you're pregnant because you canpee a little at the same time :(

What shoes are you wearing right now?

Barefoot! lol I'm not a shoes person.  If I'm home I'm barefoot, If I'm sitting at a desk I kick my shoes off under it, and whenever possible I wear flip flops instead of real shoes.

Tell us something we don't already know about you:

I went skydiving for my 22nd birthday- most amazing experience. I'm trying to talk DH into going with me after the baby is born, but he's afraid of heights.

Just checking in with my 24 week photo:

Is everyone (who celebrates) getting excited for Christmas? This week seems to be taking forever to go by, but as of 4:00 p.m. tomorrow I will be off for 12 days - yay! I finished my wrapping last night and am pretty much all ready, aside from the food items that I'll be bringing to the Christmas dinners we're going to (broccoli and cauliflower casserole, sticky toffee pudding and baked brie en croute with cranberry chutney). Can't wait for the family gatherings to begin!

    Happy Thursday everyone!

@hergreenapples:  Your bump looks great.  Love that shirt!

@ChocolateLime:  Your bump is so cute!

So, I had a pregnancy related "that awkward moment when" yesterday.  I was finishing up my Christmas shopping and was on my way back to my car and had to squeeze between two cars.  I realized that it's now easier for me to squeeze through by walking straight ahead vs. sideways like before.  My belly is now too big and I couldn't squeeze through!  LOLOLOLOL

@Mrs. Jaguar:  Our nursery set is also still flat, unassembled, in boxes, and laying in our living room floor!  We apparently aren't in any rush to put it together since we need to paint the nursery before putting anything in it, so it will probably be sitting around in our living room until after the new year (Who am I kidding, it will be there til after Valentine's Day!)

@DaniRoo:  Congrats on your baby girl!  Welcome :)  I added you to my sticky note so next time we update I'll make sure you're included.

@MrsKoz:  I hear ya- I have trouble getting up as well.  If I bend over, it squishes my belly.  If I squat, my knees get stiff and I need help getting up.  I'm only up 20 pounds, and I can't imagine how I'm going to feel later on!

@Mrs.RDV:  I'm so glad you're feeling better and that you & baby are ok!  I was wondering how you'd been feeling, but I forgot to ask (darn pregnancy brain!)

@ChocolateLime:  You and your bump are looking fantastic!  How has your mood been since the iron supplements?

@bohosioux:  Is this going to be baby #3 for you?  Wow!  How old are your other ones?  I know we have at least another non-first-timer around here, Sunchick... I'm sure you guys have plenty of stories to tell about being pregnant while caring for other little ones!

@Silveramos:  Congrats on the house!  I can't wait to see pictures of your nursery :)

@nikkialys:  UGH!  The coughing.  I bought some panty liners so I don't worry every time I cough or sneeze!  I still have some residual chest congestion (it's been 5 weeks!!! ) but it isn't as bad as it was.  I hope you recover soon!

@hergreenapples:  Your bump is adorbs, and what a fabulous shirt!  Where did you get it?

AFM- I had my 24 week prenatal appointment as well as what should be my final ultrasound yesterday.  They did a fundal height for the first time, and I'm exactly on track.  She said the fundal height in inches should be about the same (give or take a few centimeters) as my gestational age in weeks.  So, I was 24 and 24!    The ultrasound went very well.  Even though the choroid plexus cyst was gone at the last u/s, they still double checked and assured me that everything is looking great and BabyDane is developing exactly as (s)he should be.  Whew!  Here's a picture of our baby's face- it is so shocking every time we see a real human being in there!

@Candy_Nee:  Ummm, yeah, I'm one of those jerks who will purposely park RIGHT.BESIDE a car who has taken up more than their space.  I will squeeze in beside them in hopes that they can't get into their vehicle easily because THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT IT BETWEEN THE LINES!!!!!  I did that the other day and realized that I couldn't get out of my car, but on principle alone, I managed to squeeze out anyway.  People should really pay attention to the lines in the parking lot, they are there for a reason, and it isn't for decoration.  Ugh.

@DaneLady:  Thanks!! and LOL at your parking principles. I love it ;) Also, I'm super jealous of everyone's 3D ultrasounds! Look at that cute little face!!

Has anyone done the flashlisght thing? I picked up my What to Expect book (after not touching it for months...) and it said that since baby can discern light from dark now and to shine a flashlight on your belly and they will move around. You guys, I think I made her mad, because she was moving around SO MUCH for the rest of the night, I started feeling sea sick! DH got a huge kick out of it, though ;)

@DaneLady:  I do that too in the parking deck at work.  Listen people, if you'd park evenly between the lines then you wouldn't have me park so darn close to you!  Then, yes, I always end up screwing myself since I can barely get out of my car.  Or, into it.  I have an SUV and it's gettig increasingly hard to get into.
ALso, Um, you baby is stinking adorable!!!! (S)he actually looks like a little human being!! So glad to hear the cyst is really and truely cleared up!  My follow up for my little guy's cyst is Jan. 2.

@ChocolateLime:  In your first pic, you look dead center.  BUt, the second one it does look a bit low. Probably the long torso!  I'm carrying dead center and DH asked the other day when I'd start looking like I"m carrying high or low.   I was like, um, if I were, you'd definitely be able to tell by now.  God love him.  He's so cute.

@Candy_Nee:  Thank you :) Too funny about squeezing between the cars - I've started to notice that too. And then I think people must think I'm insane, because with my winter coat on you can't tell I'm pregnant...so I just look like someone who's completely unaware of her own body proportions!

@DaneLady:  Thanks! It's this shirt in "bright teal" from Motherhood with a non-maternity cardigan from Ann Taylor (that I got about three years ago!) over top :)

That pic of your baby's face is SO adorable. It makes it so much more real. Sometimes it's so hard to believe that we're growing tiny human beings!

Too funny about people not parking between the lines. I am too scared to park close to them for fear of getting my doors dinged!

@ChocolateLime:  Your bump is just too cute. Hope you're feeling more yourself these days :)

I forgot to mention in my last post that I think I felt baby hiccups for the first time yesterday. I couldn't figure out what it was but it felt different than the kicks I've been feeling and fairly rhythmic. Finally, after it occurred a few times over the course of the day it dawned on me that it was probably hiccups....poor little bunny!

@DaniRoo:  I've never heard of the flashlight thing!  I'll have to try it at home :)

@Candy_Nee:  I've got my fingers crossed that your baby's cyst has resolved as well.  It was so relieving just to hear that everything is developing normally and looks great!

@hergreenapples:  OH! I haven't had the hiccups yet (or I haven't felt them)- any way you can describe them, or is it one of those things that you can't put into words?

@ChocolateLime:  Cute!  I'll bet the nursery coming together is helping your mood as much as the iron supplements are :)

@DaneLady:  It took me awhile to figure out what it was (like, all day yesterday!). It seems to happen after I eat. So, it feels lighter than a kick. It kind of feels like a muscle spasm. And they happen at regular intervals. I always wondered how pregnant ladies knew their babies had the hiccups, but I've realized now that you just...kind of know. It definitely feels different than other movement. Totally not helpful..sorry!

    @ChocolateLime:  I LOVE the bunting!
