Same here! 100 days is going to fly by. I am getting so excited!
Me too!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel!!
......WHAT!
This is where my heart starts racing and my palms start sweating, hahaha. I really need to make more progress with all my projects!
No freaking out necessary!! I still don't have a lot done. I keep taking it one thing at a time. It will all get done and what doesn't get done, oh well...for the most part no one will be able to tell if I didn't get to it all. I do however need to get my photographer and officiant! I can't believe I've waited this long for those 2 people!! No stress!! April 28th will be the most amazing day in our lives!!
Ahhh!! I am getting married on the 28th of April as well! It feels like I have sooooo much more to plan and sooooo little time! But, I think I am just freaking myself out over the little things because they are not tangible things in my hands rand already paid for (decorations, flowers, etc.). But, the plans for these things are already made! Trying to just let myself have fun with the rest of the planning...as should everyone else! It is such an exciting time and I think a lot of us forget to enjoy the planning process and instead give ourselves anxiety attacks! The day of the wedding, none of the little things we stressed about with matter...! Good luck, bees!!!
hi twins!! i was wondering if other brides were feeling the same way as me once the 100 day mark came around. i get an email every morning from project wedding (can i say that on here) and it gives me a countdown to the day. i look forward to their email and my FI thinks it's so cute. if i don't say anything to him, he will always ask me, how many days now?
how are your plans coming? do you feel like you still have a lot to do? i always feel like i am missing something and check the planner over and over. crazy.
We obviously have the major things booked and ready to go - DJ, caterer, venue, officiant, bridesmaids and groomsmen attire purchased, etc.
But I still have a TON left to do, and I blame this on the fact that I'm making everything myself from some tablecloths, to all signage, a 40 foot+ curtain, invitation suite, even my bridal sash... so yeah, I took on more than the average bride.
What's hilarious is that SO many people ask, "Oh, April! That's soon. Do you have a place booked yet?"
Like.... are they joking?
OMG, less than 100 days now. -_- Not freaking out yet.
I have accessories, ceremony music, invitations, and bridesmaids/groomsen gifts left.
Does everyone have their invitations done? We are SO behind.
@techie: i just finished my invites last weekend. they are addressed, stamped and ready for the mail box.
@maraschino: wow, you are super bride. where do you find the time? and the energy?
@mypinkshoes: Jealous...can we switch places for a week? I don't think ours are going out for another three weeks or so. :(
@techie: mine are not out yet, just ready to go. (my dad is coming to visit us in mexico in february. he will take the invites back to ontario end of february and mail them for me, my mom will be accepting our rsvp's) you don't want to switch places with me, it's too stressful planning an out of country wedding.
hi gurls,
okay i am officially overwhelmed, i ve been in control for so long and today i just lost it, my chargers arrived all smashed, arggghhhh. dont get me started with that. My dress is not yet here yet, and im losing weight by the numbers everyday. My wedding planner is great but i feel i still have a lot to do, arghhhhhhhhhh HELP. i dunnoh i think i'll be better tomorrow. sorry just had to vent!
@redbonnie: oh no! I'm sorry. You still have time, ship those babies back and demand replacements or a refund. And you have plenty of time for the dress to be altered. Take a deep breath, one thing at a time.
Hey Twins! Has everyone else sent out their invites already? I decided to the take the DIY route and I'm hoping to get them out the door by the end of the week! What RSVP date are you guys putting? I was thinking March 31, is that too early too late? Ahhh so many decisions!!! *pulls out hair*
@mypinkshoes: Super bride, notsomuch, haha. Luckily we've had a long engagement (18 months) so I've really had time to plan, plan, PLAN and buy materials in intervals. I'm in school full time with an overload of classes and working a part-time job so I'm trying to be as productive as possible with balancing school / work / wedding projects, but I'll admit it's getting exhausting now that it's crunch time. My To-Do list is still 10 miles long, but it helps that I'm going to school for a Bachelors in Event Planning. Really keeps me on track. ;]
@redbonnie: Yikes sweetie! Those poor chargers - send those puppies BACK and demand a full refund or replacements. And when did you order your dress? I'm sure everything will shape up soon.
@MrsPom: Don't pull out too much hair, bb! You're doing just fine. For a local April 28 wedding, there is absolutely no need for the invitations to go out any sooner than the end of February. Unless you're having a destination wedding or expecting a ton of out-of-towners, sending earlier than two months prior is just silly. And my RSVP deadline is March 31, I think a full month is plenty of time to gather any last minute scragglers' RSVPs and get final head counts.
I have made heaps of progress this week. Completed most of our wedsite (just need to upload and launch), and I finished painting our wooden cake toppers, dropped off my "cake files" (packet of photos and list of flavors) with the cake maker, and got through a huge part of my DIY invitation suites. Not only did I completely finish all of the actual invitation pieces, but I got about 85% of the envelopes addressed. Didn't finish those because I'm still waiting on fiance to get the last few addresses for his guests (sigh of course). Am hoping to blow through the small RSVP postcards by the end of this weekend.
Just a few of the things I still have to make:
Not to mention I still have to think about alterations (and simple bustle options) very soon here. My dress has been in for a month now but I'm terrified of putting her in someone else's hands.
@maraschino: wow, you have a lot done but i know what you mean about the to do list. it always appears to be so big. sounds like you are doing a lot of diy. i am doing some diy projects, invites, pomanders, birdcage veil, wedding wishes cards (instead of guest book) and we are doing a logo'd backdrop for photos. like they have on the red carpet. i can only do so many things here in mexico because i can't take all of my diy projects back to ontario for the wedding. i would need 5 suitcases. so mostly i am ordering a lot of stuff online and sending it to FI parents. i will have about 10 days to finish the larger projects that are waiting for me in ontario. still trying to decide on the music. mp3 vs dj?
@mypinkshoes: If we weren't going to get the dj we wanted, we were definitely going the computer + MP3 list route - which is a great plan imo, as long as you know how to use a few simple settings on iTunes. =]
Luckily, however, our dj is a seasoned pro, and is the most natural entertainer and awesome emcee ever. I couldn't imagine anyone else dj-ing my wedding! The best thing to me is that he knows all of my friends and family, and will be able to personalize everything to a tee. We're flying him (and his equipment!) out from Florida and it means the world to me that he's willing to drop everything in his busy schedule to do this for our wedding day.
Sooo ladies, I finished ALL of the invitations, response cards, and addressing the envelopes. After weeks of printing, stamping, and embossing, I was about to rip my hair out, BUT done done done. All that's left to do is figure out what kind of belly band I want, and then slap postage on there... and then anxiously wait until the end of February to mail them out, hah.
Have also whipped up some super simple rehearsal dinner invites (which turned out utterly adorable, imo, for how simple they are), ordered some more linens, and ordered all of the groomsmen's ties. Can I please get a high five?!
Where are you other April 28th brides at in your planning?
@maraschino: my newest idea is to have a backdrop kind of like at the oscars with logos of our initials and names/date on it. when the guests arrive to the ceremony (everything at one location), my sister will take a pic of each couple and then during the cocktail hour she will go to the quick photo kiosk and get them printed. we will put their table number on the back of the picture and use it as their escort card. just trying to decide how to display the pics for the guests to retrieve their escort photo before going into the dining room. any ideas? there won't be many. it's small wedding on 40-45 ppl so maybe only 20-25 4x6 pics.
@redbonnie: Oh what a poor mess to those chargers!!! What ended up happening wiith them? Were you able to get a refund or exchange them? I hope so.
@MrsPom: March 31st may be a little late to mail out invites, but that also depends on the number of people you are having and if your caterer/venue needs head counts, meal counts, seating charts in advance. Ours are required by April 14th, so I am asking that response cards be returned no later than April 2nd. This gives me about 12 days to call everyone that hasn't responded and to get all of the counts straight. I was thinking about making the due date a week prior to that even just so we have plenty of time to work on a seating chart. His mom is stressed because her family doesn't all get along. I'm hoping to have mine mailed out by the end of February. Just so I know they are out of my hands. :)
As for planning, I feel like I'm in the merry-go-round and everytime I feel like I'm done with something, something new comes around. We thankfully booked a photographer this week and looked at flowers last weekend. My parents have asked if they could pay for the flowers because they wanted to help us as much as they can afford. We went to 2 florists last weekend and their quotes ironically were only a few dollars off from eachother. I was happy that at least we weren't getting screwed over by anyone!! I still feel like the prices are a little high and I know my parents financial situation, so mom and I are going back today at noon to talk with the florist of the place I want to go with. We don't need centerpieces so that has saved us a ton of money, but still it was over $1100 for flowers. My bouquet they said was $250. I know that the flowers I want are a little more pricey, but that was a lot of money for one arrangement. But hopefully I can talk him down to $50 bridesmaid flowers instead of $80 flowers for the 3 girls.
So: Flowers, mail deposit for photographer, tuxes, wedding bands, DIY the rest of my ordered invites, create and print response cards, pick out the cake, gifts for the girls (anyone have any ideas??? they are my sisters, but I don't want to spend too much), accessories, shoes, table numbers, book airfare, figure out a photo wall or display for the wedding, plan the rehearsal dinner, boxes for the favors we are making....it doesn't look so bad up here, but on paper it has me going crazy!!
Hope everyone has a productive Saturday. I'm off to work on my response cards...
@missmary82: yes, it does always seem like a lot on paper doesn't it. i just ordered the 1 BM gift last week. i got a classic pearl necklace and earring set. it would suit her and she can wear it for the wedding. my 2 younger nieces and sister are helping out a lot so i got them cute starfish toggle bracelets and sis got the matching necklace. good luck with your response cards.
@mypinkshoes: I love pearls! Although I'm not wearing them on my wedding because my dress has bling so I'm figuring on a simple earring necklace bracelet combo. Response cards are still not all the way done yet. But they are coming along.
hey girls :) well im active duty and stationed in a different state so to help out with the not being able to see eachother/ get all the paper work done before i go to my next base on the other side of the country we got married in december (civily).... my brother in law didnt want us to get married at the court house so we had it at his church.... i wore a prom dress and he had a nice shirt... got some flowers and stuff so we were set to go.. luckly we even bought our rings extra early so it worked out great....(so the worrying about him not showing up or him running at the last moment are not in my dreams any more lol)
buuuttt we are having a large formal ceremony/reception april 28th.. with 8 BMs, 8 GMs, around 15 couples are sponsoring us (alot of friends who want to help out personally with the wedding as their gift instead of getting a toaster that we probably wont use lol)... and around 150 guest for the dinner and a total some where around 350-400 after dinner is over ..we each have a HUGE FAMILY
so everything that the "sponsors are helping out with are done or at their final stages: the food, cake, dj, invitations, flowers, preacher, photographers, videographer, laso, unity candels, linens/decor, toasting flutes (that are going to be also used as favors ....putting hersey kisses in them...but we think we are just going to have ppl lift up a glass of what ever they are already drinking.. cuz i dont think any women want wine in their purses)...the card box, guest book, and finally the bible have all been taken care of by these wonderful people... pretty much told them what i like if it could be ordered online they just asked what the item# was and ordered it...
the only things left are to print the invites put them in envelopes and mail them off :)
get the dress fitted for the second time
diy the centerpieces with all the girls help.... and purchase the little supplies for the ceremony such as flower petals... the ring pillow... baskets for the flower girls... make sure the girls get their fitting for their dresses since those are being custom made... and i havnt decided if i want to buy all the flameless candels yet... but other than that almost everyhting is done... so far the night mares have only been about the dress not being fitted or i totally forget to pick it up before i leave to cali... hair and makeup not getting done cuz of last minute problems with the site like we have to set up everything myself cuz if i dont do it myself then i dont like it (im really really stubborn).... but i know if shit hits the fan my man is still my husband and he wouldnt care if i walked down the aisle in sweat pants, a messy bun, no makeup, and some flowers i picked from the side of the venue 10 minutes before show time :)
this is probably one of the best times in my life that having a huge mexican family and internet is great :D cuz i only go home once in a blue moon so the things i cant get done from out of state.... i have over a dozen ppl to call to help...
what has been one of the most stressful parts about the wedding being so close now??? cuz so far its the little things that are adding up and any surprise add ons to our already expensive wedding.
@SABRISIL91: sounds like you have a wonderful support system for your wedding. i too am planning my wedding from a distance. the wedding is in ontario where our families are and we now live in yucatan, mexico. that seems to be the most stressful thing. but you're right, the internet is great for the planning.
the crazy thing is mostly all of the support is from my husbands family... my family pretty much disowned me......
@SABRISIL91: i'm sorry to hear that about your family. you are lucky to have a husband with a wonderful and loving family.
anyways i swear i feel like im sooo worried about not sending out the invites yet... like im hoping i get them out with in the week but arent they supposed be sent out like at the minimum of 6-8 weeks before from wedding
@SABRISIL91: yes, i think 6-8 weeks is normal. longer for a lot of oot guest. my invites are done, just have to get them in the mail march 1. rsvp april 1.

I can hardly believe this, but we have 100 days as of today until our weddings!!!! I'm amazed at how fast it's coming! SOOOOO much to get done in 100 days!
