Work is slow this morning, so I'll start :)

    Due Date:  4/5/13

    First child?  yes

    Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined:  Green!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date:  The stuffy nose... I wasn't prepared for or expecting that!

Feel any fetal movement yet:  Yes!  Just a few thumps & bumps... I'm eagerly awaiting a REAL kick.

Best pregnancy moment so far:  Seeing our baby being so active at our NT scan.  It was completely surreal and a wonderful experience for us.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas?  Enjoy each moment instead of wishing time away in anticipation of the next big milsetone.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like):

This was taken at my wedding before I got into my dress.  We had tons of rain that morning so I still had on my rainboots.  I was chowing down on some chips when a friend snapped this picture- it is now known as the "Barney Stinson Oddly Photogenic Couch Potato Picture" amongst friends. (anyone watch HIMYM?)

Work is slow for me today too, so I'll play along!

    Due Date:  04.13.2013

    First child?  Yep

    Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined:  Team Blue!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date:  I know it's common, but the crying.  Once I get started I can't stop.  DH accidentally bumped his head into my lip and teeth the other day and you would have though someone killed my dog by the way I was crying.  The bump brought tears to my eyes, but after that it was ridiculous!

Feel any fetal movement yet:  None yet, darn it!!

Best pregnancy moment so far:  Seeing our little acrobat flip and turn then show us HIS goods at my cervical measurement ultrasound

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas?  Embrace the maternity pants!  There is nothing more glorious than an elastic waistband!! :)

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like):

This was after a long day of fun and beverages on the lake at my in laws lake house.  Plus, almost everything that's there is super 80's-tastic! That's an origianl Member's Only jacket!

    I'll play!!

    Due Date: April 14, 2013

    First child? Yes

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: undetermined - we should be finding out November 15th! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: nausea/indigestion after meals - happens frequently to the point where I often feel worse after I eat than before.

Feel any fetal movement yet: sometimes I think I might be feeling little flutters but its so faint that I can't tell for sure that it isn't all in my head.

Best pregnancy moment so far: sharing our exciting news with friends & family.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? I keep trying to do everything that I did before my bfp without cutting myself any slack, so my advice would be to SLOW down and let someone else pamper/take care of you once in a while.

    First child? Yes

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Undetermined will find out on the 22nd Nov

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: pins and needles in my legs, i have poor circulation anyway but jeeze they hurt sometimes

Feel any fetal movement yet: the odd bubble and flutter

Best pregnancy moment so far: First Ultrasound and the moment i told me mum, she was over the moon

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? dont google everything before you eat it to see if its safe- chances are there is a website that says no eg herbs. i know they are fine to use in food but every herb is apparently a no no in high doses.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): i will find one later!

    Due Date: April 22nd. Today we're 14 weeks + 3 days

    First child? Yep!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined:  Not sure yet - a few weeks should tell us, hopefully.

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: No really odd ones.. but having a constant stuffy nose is weird.

Feel any fetal movement yet: None yet. :(

Best pregnancy moment so far: Seeing baby, hearing baby. Love this little bub so much already.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? I'm trying to be calm about everything being ok.. so I guess to just slow down, relax, and remember how lucky you are to be pregnant!

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): How about a stupid outtake from the 14 week bump pics? I didn't realise hubs had taken this. I was grinning like a loon at the cat, who was trying to gatecrash the pics!

Everyone's bumps are looking so great. More like baby's than eating big meals!

Due Date: April 3 - 17 weeks today!!

    First child? Yes

    Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Team Green

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: Having an aversion to beef for a couple weeks

Feel any fetal movement yet: A few bumps and nudges. Can't wait until DH can feel them too!

Best pregnancy moment so far: First ultra sound a couple weeks ago when we got to see the baby dancing up a storm. That was amazing.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Rest and let people do things for you when they want to.

    First child? Yup!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Undetermined. .will find out in November!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: I'm not sure if its odd, awesome, or an inconvenience, but the whole boobs thing through me. I knew they would get bigger, but I didn't know how fast and big they would grow!

Feel any fetal movement yet: Nothing that was a for sure movement. I have been feeling vibrations in my hips, like if you were to have your cell phone in your pocket and it was on vibrate.

Best pregnancy moment so far: Telling friends and family and hearing the heartbeat.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Maternity pants are much more comfortable than any "big" pair of jeans that you have, go ahead and make the leap.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): This was taken during our ten week photo shoot. . a few days before I took a spill playing co-edkickball (so much fun). Both of my knees were banged up too :(

I just got home from my last ever class for my masters program!  Thank God that's over with!!

    Due Date: 4/4/13

    First child? Yes

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Undetermined - will find out on 11/21

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: Had a few days where my ears were stuffy...like when you go up and down in a plane.

Feel any fetal movement yet: I don't think so, but I lay in bed every night hoping to feel something.

Best pregnancy moment so far: Getting to see our nugget on the ultrasounds and hearing his/her heart beat at appointments.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Try not to wish the weeks away.  I find myself wanting it to be the next day or the next week closer to the next appointment.  Pretty soon the pregnancy will be over and I'll wonder where the time went.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): Can't find one right now.  Might update later.

Sorry I’ve been MIA. Between school, work, DD, DH, pregnancy exhaustion, and house work I have time for anything. I can’t wait until this semester is over and I get to have a nice break until next fall….well actually my break will be up in April when LO arrives!

This past week I had allergies that would just not quit, which turned into a sinus infection and respiratory infection. Not fun. My OB gave me some antibiotics and I feel sooo much better already. I must have had a fever at some point though, because I got disgusting cold sores on the bottom of my nose. Not a fun week so far!

Our anatomy scan is for the day before Thanksgiving and I did not want to wait that long. I’m getting super jealous of all you guys finding out! I found an elective ultrasound place nearby and made an appointment for Friday to find out. The suspense is killing me! I hate not knowing secrets.

All these bumps are soo cute!

    Due Date: 4/5/13

    First child? Nope, second!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: We are finding out on Friday!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: My nose has been stuffed ever since like 8 weeks. Mouth breathing during the night is soooo uncomfortable!

Feel any fetal movement yet: Not yet.

Best pregnancy moment so far: Having DD hear the baby’s heartbeat at my last appt.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Enjoy the second trimester. Third trimester is a pain in the…well, everywhere.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): I will later.

@daybyday:  I loved stalking the month-before threads too, since I could get a sneak peek at what was to come.

    @Mrs.RDV:  Happy 17 weeks!!!!

@Silveramos:  Aw, I love your sad face. Poor you!

@MrsKoz:  Congrats on the masters class being over. I've also had weird blocked stuffy ears on and off too.

@CherryCola11:  I hope you're feeling better soon. When do you guys have Thanksgiving?

do you ever wonder how big your bump will be? I was thinking this last night, i have been underweight practically my whole life and everyone keeps telling me i will show more because im skinny, or at least will me more noticiable for friends and family sooner because i have always had a very flat tummy. Its hard to imagine at this stage having a huge bump, my centre of gravity is shocking at the best of times!!

@ChocolateLime:  I always wonder, just out of curiosity. Having been bigger my whole life, I'm kind of looking forward to not having to hide my curves during pregnancy, you know? Although.. I had two felow teachers & a parent all tell me I looked like I'd gotten 'huge' over the last few days - wasn't it a bit early for that?

Now I'm a mixture of pleased that my bump is showing.. and scared it's too early.

@Mrs. Jaguar:  That's exactly how I feel!!!  I was just telling DH the other day that I was always worried that when I did get pregnant you wouldn't be able to tell for a really long time since I've always been a bit on the bigger side.  But, now that I'm only 15 weeks and you can really tell I'm pregnant, I'm worried that I'm going to be massive the further along I get!

@CherryCola11:  Super exciting that you get to find out tomorrow!!!!

    Due Date: April 25th

    First child? Yup!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Undetermined - we find out November 20th!

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: Starving all the time - I mean I knew I would be hungry more - but I seriously am tired of eating/snacking.

Feel any fetal movement yet: Nope :(

Best pregnancy moment so far: Everytime I hear everything looks good from our doctors.  Makes me feel good :)

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Don't go anywhere that there isn't a bathroom - for example running in the woods with your boot camp class - you'll regret it.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like):

@Silveramos:  Oh no!  Your poor boo-boos!  I hope they have since healed nicely :)

@CherryCola11:  Due date twin!  It's also nice to have someone who has been through this before.  I know that every pregnancy is different, but I'm sure we'll all be asking your advice as the months progress.

@MrsApple414:  That, my dear, is a FANTASTIC picture!

Regarding bump size... well I've heard so many mixed opinions on that!  I'm short but athletic, so some people were saying I'd show early beacuse I have a shorter torso, and other people were saying I'd hide it well because I'm quite muscular.  Meh, up until a week or so ago, it still looked like I ate too much.  I can hide the bump easily with certain outfits, but in other outfits I look obviously pregnant.  Sometimes I think people should just keep their mouths shut about our bodies!  We are all growing differently, getting bigger in different ways, and I think it's beautiful!

@Mrs. Jaguar:  Our Thanksgiving is November 22 this year. NO WAY can I wait until I am 20.5 weeks! lol, I need to know now!

@ChocolateLime:  I had a friend, who is very skinny, who had a baby last year. At her biggest stage she looked like someone else looks like at 7 months. I don't know if she has a high metabolism or what, because that girl can eat. Her baby was normal weight. I think she only gained 18lbs her whole pregnancy, and was back in pre-pregnancy jeans like a week later. Super jealous.

    @diva81esq:  What a cute announcement!

So the other day, my BIL's ex GF had their baby, so I went to the hospital with DD so she could meet her brand new cousin. There is nothing better than holding a brand new baby, it got me so excited. Anyways, she was telling me her birth story and even though I already know I shouldn’t be scared of labor (there’s really nothing to be afraid of), her’s has me dreading April! She fully planned on getting an epidural and due to complications with her last child, the anesthesiologist said it would be too risky to get one and denied her! I do NOT know what I would do in that situation. I know tons of people go natural, but to be depending on that pain relief and having it snatched away is terrifying to me. Maybe if my labor with DD was easier (and not 33 hours) the thought of no epi wouldn’t make me want to puke.

Seriously though, all the mamas that have or want a natural birth deserve an award. I think I’ll make everyone one, because that is impressive.

I'll play!  And yay for our 3rd thread! I feel like we must be so far along if we have already burned through 2! (or we are just really chatty)

Due Date: 4-11-13 (Three days before our anniversary!

    First child? yep!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: TEAM GREEN (although I am starting to feel  the temptation (but I LOVE surprises!)

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: Every now and then my gums get itchy... but it usually goes away after an hour or so. It drives me nuts though!

Feel any fetal movement yet: I think so? Or it's just crazy gas... Not really sure. :-/

Best pregnancy moment so far: Mr. Aardvark talking to my belly (saying things like "Stop making your mommy sick" after I barf or "GO PACK!" during a the Packer's games) Also hearing/seeing the baby at the Doctor's office.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Listen to your body, it generally knows what it wants.

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): I am at work (shh!) I will have to dig one up from home.

@diva81esq:  Love it!  Soooo cute :)

@CherryCola11:  I would think even if they deny someone an epi they should be able to offer some other form of relief if it's requested... be it IV pain meds or laughing gas or SOMETHING!  I do plan to attempt a med-free birth, but I am PLANNING it, not being forced into it.  I will have time to prepare mentally, and make sure I have a midwife with whom I am comfortable, and also time to make sure that DH can prepare to be the best coach he can be.  After all that I might still opt for pain meds, because it's an option and I am lucky enough to be in a position to make that choice for myself.

    First child? Yes!

Team Pink/Blue/Green/Undetermined: Team Green! We have our anatomy u/s booked for Nov. 14, but we won't be finding out the sex.

Oddest pregnancy symptom to date: The gnawing hunger (have now gained about 4 kg/9-ish lbs), the runny nose, the more intense sexy time (not complaining about that one!).

Feel any fetal movement yet: Not that I'm certain of.

Best pregnancy moment so far: I heard the heartbeat for the first time this morning. That was pretty awesome. I recorded it and sent the audio file to DH and my parents :) Not sure there is any better sound in the world.

Any words of advice for fellow April mamas? Cut yourself some slack sometimes...you are growing a tiny human inside your body!

and for giggles, post a funny picture of yourself (if you like): I can't find one of me on this computer. Here's my very handsome kitty instead!

@DaneLady:  I believe they gave her some nubain, but from my experience thats nothing compared to the power of an epidural! lol. Your plan is a really good plan. I think after hearing her experience it wouldn't hurt to prepare myself for anything, even though I know what I want. I guess you never know what could happen!

@Mrs. Aardvark:  I love it when MrDane talks to my belly!  Most often, he just lays his head down, as if he's listening.  When I ask if he heard anything, he replies "FEED ME NACHOS!" as a joke because all I ate the first month or so was nachos.  I could NOT get enough chips & cheese!

@hergreenapples:  I have an anatomy scan on Halloween and I'm so nervous they'll 'accidentally' show me a potty shot or let it slip!  Love the kitteh by the way :)

@CherryCola11:  OMG that poor girl!  Someone would have to be killed if they told me no epi!!

@Mrs. Aardvark:  I love when my husband talks and sings to my belly!  The other day he sang Prince's Purple Rain.  He clearly hasn't quite learned what is appropriate for a baby yet! :)

@Mrs. Aardvark: Mr B comes home from work puts his hand on my belly and says in his babyish voice 'hello baby in there' then starts tapping my belly lightly then shouts (not loudly) 'oi baby, wake up daddy is talking to you'. then goes back to softly softly 'ok go to sleep baby'.

havent been sick in 2 days! but man i have had bad gas pains!

Olives are my new thing, cant get enough of them, and chocolate coconut milk drink that i found in the free from isle. makes a great hot chocolate without the lactose!

@DaneLady:  @hergreenapples:  I think I would cry if I accidently found out pink or blue. I really like being team green.

Hey ladies!  I have a question.  How much weight have you gained since getting pregnant?  I'm curious because I haven't actually "gained" according to my weight on the scale.  I was at 180 before getting pregnant and I'm at 179 today.  My body has totally changed- boobs are bigger, stomach is bigger/different shape, legs/arms/face have seen to have slimmed down a little.  I'm wearing my two pairs of "fat jeans" and just bought a few maternity tops because my regular shirts no longer cover my belly.

I keep reading that everyone gains differently so I'm not freaking out just yet, more curious then anything else.  I have a Dr. appointment Tuesday but I'm curious to hear from so other moms to be before then.

@Candy_Nee:  I'm happy to be growing. To me, that means that baby is hopefully growing too. You look beautiful already!

@MrsApple414:  I have a very similar picture to that from our honeymoon, hehe. :)

@DaneLady:  Totally agree. I think it's a LOT about the outfits, too.

@diva81esq:  I love the announcement! Perfect for your Autumn weather over there. Congratulations on coming out!

@CherryCola11:  I know, our scan is 19 weeks on Nov 26th - I can't wait that long. It's another month! Hence the earlier scan. Sneaky sneaky!

@Mrs. Aardvark:  I love that you're having an anniversary baby! Ours won't be here until a little before our 2nd.

@hergreenapples:  Your kitty has such a sweet face. Like mine, actually! Very cute. YAY on hearing the heartbeat. I sneak my home doppler on way too much, but I could listen to that thump for hours!

@nikkialys:  Mine is a weird situation, because I wasn't at my 'normal weight' when I got pregnancy - I was about 5kg over, thanks to IVF meds and bloating from the procedures. I'm currently up about 3-4kg, but still well UNDER that 'all time high' number. So yah. Nearly 15 weeks, a few kilos.

@nikkialys:  I'm 16w2d and am up 4 kg (or about 9 lbs). Strangely, I gained the most weight between weeks 4 and 8 and have just gained a little here and there since then. I blame m/s and the fact that it made me stuff my face with carbs! Everyone is different though.

@nikkialys:  I am 16W2 days and am just now back to my "pre-pregnancy weight (165). I lost 6 lbs in the fist tri. didn't eat much at all due to morning (all day) sickness. My doc said I should gain 30lbs. total and didn't seem concerned at my last appontment. But I too have totally changed shape! (Makes me wonder where it went because my belly boobs and bum are sure bigger!

@nikkialys:  At 17 weeks I'm up 16lbs. I blame this on the huge appetite I had in the first trimester and no energy for exercising. DH says its mostly in the boobs! lol. I can see my body changing shape and I love it. How often can we gain weight and just embrace it.

Our baby is due 2 days after our 6 year dating anniversary and exactly 2 weeks before my birthday. There are tonnes of April birthday's in my family, so this baby will be lucky to get its own day.
