Hello, fellow April brides! Just curious when are you sending out your invitations? We have ours designed, and just need to print them out and assemble them, but I’m just wondering when all of you are sending yours out? I don’t want to send them out too early, but at the same time, I’m excited, and want to get them out soon(ish!).

We have already sent out out of USA ones out last week but we are waiting to send the US ones out maybe in early February? Is that too early?!

We are sending ours in the middle of January. That should give people about 5-6 weeks to RSVP.

I just ordered mine tonight… so it will depend on that, but we have intentions of sending them out middle of January. We asked for them to be returned by March 1 so we have time to update vendor lists etc. I have the RSVP cards already and I am drafting all the other inserts, so the only thing I am waiting on is the actual invitations.
Anyone have an opinion on envelope liners? I am thinking DIY, but my Dad says – who even cares about that stuff?

@kimberlee10: I agree with your dad. 🙂 I know when I open mail, I usually tear the flap anyway.

I sent our custom made invites out before Xmas…was a bit too organised but was too excited about having them sent so everyonce could see our awesome invites! hehe.
But a couple months I feel is fine to give guests for RSVP’ing. So long as they’re already aware of when the wedding will be then I think 5-6 wks is sufficient.
We didn’t do the RSVP envelopes as we just didn’t want too much stationery sent with the invites. And it saves guests having to return them back to us either. We’ve just provided guests with our email address and contact phone number and asked that they RSVP by email or phone. Made it a bit more personal I think? I’ve asked that they respond by early February, thats probably quite early but I figure there’ll no doubt be some that won’t so will chase them up early March if I need to, pain in the butt but oh well, there’s always some that don’t reply on time.

I was shooting February 1st. They’ve been ordered just waiting for them to arrive. Our RSVP date is March 12 (1 months before). I’m nervous that that’s too late now. Yikes!

panic! I haven’t even picked invitations yet!

We cant order them until the end of January, but as soon as we get them they are going out.

My plan is to send them at the end of February – early enough that I can invite people from my “alternates” list as people RSVP as not coming (esp from my fiancee’s HUGE family). I don’t really have alternates from out of town, and am keeping the whole thing really small. No worries about filing all 152 chairs. Sounds like a lot of people are going much earlier than that! I have told all the important people the date already…. seems like 2 months should be enough lead time to me.
Paper is picked, a cute illustration of us is done, and my graphic designer friend is doing mock ups in the next couple of weeks. So excited to see how they turn out! And grateful to have such talented friends. I guess I should buy envelopes and start addressing them, so i don’t have to do that all at once…..

To add one extra special touch to Valentines Day 😉 I plan on sending them out 2/14!! RSVP by March 5th- April 7th is the Day!!! Yay!

@kimberlee10: I got some packaged print-your-own invites from Michaels and the envelopes were a little bit cheap looking – I added some DIY envelope liners with some extra scrapbooking paper I had and it makes them look a lot better especially since i got somewhat boring looking invitations.

We’ve now sent ours now (other than a few) and have had two informal RSVPS.
