congratulations! not having an april 1st wedding but my FIRST wedding was on april fools day..... have a funny story for you..... we went to vegas and got married at a drive-through chapel...... it was really late in the day so by the time we got it all done it was just after midnight so it was actually april 2nd. we told the woman who married us that we had hoped to be married on the 1st but we had missed it by 15 minutes. she said "oh no problem!" and proceeded to change the date on our marriage licence with white out! she wrote april 1st on top of april 2nd. Tah-dah! married on april 1st!
we were never sure if that was actually legal or not..... lol.
It's not my wedding date but it is my mom's birthday! I think it is an awesome idea!! You can get away with some funny tricks too!
My boyfriend's brother got engaged on April 1st this year, but I think they're setting the date for April 2 of next year... close!

Well, glad you all like the idea! I'm hoping I'm not the ONLY bride doing this though haha, would be fun to find a bride twin on April Fools Day to trade ideas with! :)

I don't know how I missed this thread! I'm an April Fool's bride too! When people ask why we picked that date, I just say it's coz we're fools for love, or fools for each other, haha. Cheesy I know but we're both excited about it!

If I could have gotten away with getting married before graduation April 1st was my first pick! Then again, the more I thought about it later I was kinda happe we didn't pick that because his birthdat is April 5th and mine is April 19th,

Just set the date for April 1st 2012 on a Sunday!! We are abit worried of what people will think of the date, but we both wanted it and it will be such a great day.
I am also getting married on April 1, 2011. We actually picked the date because we fell in love with our venue and that was the only Friday night they had available in April.
We are going to have some fun with it and I am trying to think of some fun ideas and playful jokes for the guests. Any ideas????
Congrats Katiebug, I myself am trying to come up with fun games as well for this day. But I have no idea what games!
I'm getting married on April Fool's Day, too. I'm glad I found this posting, cause like yourselves, I have wanting to find someone to share ideas with!! He picked the date and it's perfect for us. I'm planning to give kazoos out at the ceremony and have everyone play the wedding march. I haven't been able to come up with any other ideas. I like the games idea, I was also thinking about a toy theme. Not much time left to think about it, now.
I also just thought about putting whoopie cushions under the seat covers on random seats at the reception, maybe the ceremony instead.

I had fight with my girl friend yesterday (she is in india), to change the date...but now i think i should go for it...
I can make fool my fiance every year...by giving empty gift pack :-)

My boyfriend & I just set the date this past weekend to elope on April
1st 2011!!
We picked the date as it means Unity and the number for God and cannot
be divided :)
We both have birthdays in April so this month means a lot to us and
spring is our favorite season meaning "new things"
We also love the fact that b/c it is an elopement it will be a
surprise to many thinking we are fooling them but not!! :)
We can't wait and I only have 30 days to plan a nice simple and small
day that will be special to us forever!

We are getting married on Friday as well!!! So excited... only 2 days left :)
How was everyone's wedding!! Ours was fantastic! We were surprised how many courthouse nuptials were taking place on April 1st. We were 5th in line and at least 15 more were behind us. We celebrated with a wedding cake cutting with close family and friends afterwards! Below is a pic of us!

My Fiance & I like to think outside the box and decided to have our Wedding on April 1st 2011!
So far it's been a hit with all our guests (except the grandparents.. haha)
