Hi. I'm getting married in SAV on March 27. I haven't heard of your salon but I'm a DW bride so I don't know the area all that well. My wedding coordinator recommended the hair/make-up person that I will use - from Savannah Day Spa.
Our ceremony will be in Washington Square and our reception is at the Olde Pink House. We have roughly 6 weeks to go... getting excited!!
I'm getting married in Savannah on May 1 - I live in that area now, but am originally from Boston. About 90% of our guests will be flying in from New England, so it's kind of like a DW in many ways!
@maggiegran - I also have never heard of Smitten Salon - is it located downtown?
@farfromachildbride - I just booked my hair at Savannah Day Spa as well! I'm going for a trial at the beginning of March. I've been there for a massage before, but never for hair, so I'm excited for the trial!
I love seeing other Savannah brides here. Esp DW ones. :) What venues are you girls using for your ceremonies & receptions?? Do either of you need a wedding coordinator? I have an awesome coordinator that I'd be happy to refer if you're looking for some help or a DOC.
@Colette27... please let me know how your hair trial goes at SDS! My hair trial is scheduled for the day before my wedding. Not a lot of wiggle room ~ yikes.

@Farfromachildbride, I'm having my reception at the Old Pink House as well! Are you working with Bianca and Libby? I love the space so much and I can't wait to host a beautiful wedding reception there. Are you also having a cocktail hour in the Pink House? Or outside at Reynold's Square?
Hi @Maggiegran - You have great taste! ;) Yes, we are having a cocktail reception in Reynolds Square... serving peach belini's and iced tea! Then we'll have the reception in the ballroom of the Pink House - where I plan to eat one of each of the three entrees - LOL. Followed by after party in the basement tavern (which I love, love, love)! I can't wait, either!!
I am working with Bianca (who is AWESOME) but my wedding coordinator is local so the two of them hash out a lot of details on my behalf.
@maggiegran - How did you guys pick Savannah?
@Colette27 - What took you to Savannah fr Boston? I'm envious. We live in Boston now and I'd LOVE to move to SAV permanently!!

I hope it's OK to let you all know about a new Savannah wedding blog we just started. My husband Greg Ceo is a photographer here, and we've realized that a lot of brides stumble upon our website because they are looking for photos of different ceremony and reception venues. We figure it would probably be really helpful to have one site with all the venues around here, with lots of pictures. So we just made one: http://www.SavannahWeddingVenues.wordpress.com.
We're going to put up slideshows of all the places Greg has shot, focusing as much as possible on detail views of the spaces. it's a work in progress, and will get more venues as I have time to go through our archives and make pages. But in the meantime, feel free to email me if you see a space on our "coming soon" list that you want to see pictures of, and I will prioritize that one.

@ farfromachildbride - My hair trial today was great! I was not disappointed. The stylist was able to incorporate the things I liked about both of the inspiration photos I brought with me, and the end result was a perfect combination of the two. I had a work event to go afterwards, and everyone I know (and a few perfect strangers) came up to tell me how amazing my hair looked! Good luck with your own trial and wedding - it's coming up fast! (P.S. I moved down here 4 years ago for work and to be closer to my then boyfriend/now FI - glad to report both the job and things with the boy have worked out well!)
Thanks Collette!! So glad to hear your hair trial went so well!! This is a relief to hear. I keep getting questions about how I plan to wear my hair and I'm really just going to leave it up to the stylist. So nice to know she's good at what she does. I will take a couple of inspiration pictures like you did, since that seems to have worked well. I really appreciate the tip!

I am thrilled to have found this site. I am a DW bride too and will be getting married 11/20/10. We have chosen Whitfield Square Gazebo for the ceremony and will be holding our reception at 109 West. My finace and I travel each year to Savannah and it has become our little spot in the world for us to getaway and relax, there's no better place for us to get married. I'm so happy to be able to chat with you ladies about planning and see what your recommendations are.
@ufallyq8r - Congratulations! You picked the best city ever for your DW!
We just got married this past weekend and it was fantastic! If any of you need recommendations for coordinator, florist, cake, hair/make-up, band, photographer, etc. please don't hesitate to contact me. ALL of our vendors were wonderful to work with and their work was excellent. Our guests are all raving about EVERYTHING - and so are we!!
Savannah is such a fun place and romantic, too. We cannot express how happy we are that we chose it for our wedding location. I know all of you are going to have awesome weddings, too, and will have just as many great things to say about it afterwards, too.

Hi everyone! I'm not sure if folks check this local board often since there doesn't seem to be many of us Savannah brides out there. But honestly, that's the way I like it!
I'm getting married in Savannah in April and I wanted to connect with other folks who were recently married or soon to be married in the area. I'd love recommendations on anything you can think of! In the meantime--I just booked to have my hair done at Smitten Salon--anyone know of it?
