We are planning a wedding for april and I am having a hard time coming up with colors and flowers for the wedding. I am marrying a United States Marine. The problem that i am having is that he will be wearing Marine Blues. I love that he is in the Military and am very very proud of him. We have known each other since middle school…. But did not start dateing until a year ago. The military Blues are very handsome but matching the colors that are in them are rather hard. I was thinking of red, but the red on the blues is a very weird red to match. I also dont want a too much of a patriotic wedding.
What we want is something very simple and to honor our traditional Montana Heritage. We are having the wedding in a church in a very small town. But we can not figure out the right colors for the wedding. Also we have decided on silk flowers because in Montana April can not be perdictable. It could be snowing, raining or extremely cold winds.
Please, someone I need help!!!!

Congrats on your engagement! I’m getting married in New England in April to a military man (Irish Air Corps) and he’ll be wearing a navy-colored uniform too. The color I’ve chosen is berry by Alfred Angelo because I love jewel tones and I’m not really a ‘pastel’ person. Pastels would work really well though.
My sister is my maid of honor and suggested yellow to me because it would look great with navy blue (the groom and some groomsmen) and black (tuxes on other groomsmen) but it didn’t match what I pictured in my own head (although it’s adorable!) I’ve seen pictures online of mixed bridal parties (uniforms and tuxes) and lots of colors seem to work – even black on the bridesmaids. Metallic colors would be cool too – gold especially.
Springtime is tough to predict but I plan on getting wraps for my bridesmaids just in case and hoping for the best weather-wise!

That what i was thinking about doing aswell. I was also thinking about putting the bridesmaids in a very deep rich wine red… I think that it would be very pretty…I still need to figure out flower ideas
Congrats on your engagement

Could you use a less “patriotic” blue, like a lighter/baby shade? Or, I love AnamCara’s suggestion to highlight metallic colors — or maybe jewel tones?

I think that berry is a great color with navy blue! But my version of berry is more like a metallic magenta. I’m not sure if this image helps, but it would be lovely!
