This is probably a stupid question but is the setting low enough that the stone might be stabbing you occasionally if it is set on the diagonal? I like the diagonal way more but this might be a concern. Either way though it is beautiful! I love aquamarines.
Floridagirl2010-that's a great point! It will actually have to be set higher than the jeweler would normally do so that the prongs can clear the semi-mount. They are also looking at doing a v-prong to protect the corners that will also protect me some from the "poke factor".
I like the first picture better and I love the idea of an aquamarine for a center stone:) I almost did that myself.
Thank you nontraditionalmiami! I am ecstatic about getting engaged and finally getting to wear the final creation!!! It's amazing that I don't really have a preference either way...maybe it's because I'm in love with him and the stone so much =)
I started a ring thread and was having a lot of difficulty chosing a ring. I decided to go with a band instead. I'm not a ring person. I've never worn them and I couldn't commit to a style and didn't want him to spend a lot of money, so the band was perfect. I was driving myself nuts. Out of 100 rings, I would MAYBE think that 2 of them were nice. I guess I'm super picky lol
I have an emerald e-ring - another member of the beryl family like your aqua. The stone is a little more fragile than diamonds and corundum (ruby, sapphire). The squared off setting will be more protective of your stone. Just something to consider.
Thank you all for your comments! I will post a pic of his choice when I can officially refer to "him" as my FIANCE =)
Happy Birthday Misschickpea! My bday is on 3/17 and LOVE having aqua as my birthstone =D
gundy21 ~ they're looking into a "v-prong" to protect the corners no matter how it's set for that very reason! Thank you for the valuable input!
I voted in-line. I love aqua and that setting is beautiful! I'm sure it will look even more beautiful once it's actually done!
OK BEES!!! Here it is!!!!!! Oh my goodness it is so much more radiant than I could've ever dreamed!!!

It's so pretty! Love the aquas! My favorite gemstone actually!
It's such an elegant, soothing, icy blue! Your setting is amazing!
That is beyond beautiful!!!! You are very, very, very lucky!!!!!!
Thanks for letting us see your breathtaking ring!

Hi Bees,
I've been so busy that I haven't been online in about a month! BUT, my engagement is so close to being official I can hardly stand it! Here are two pics of my e-ring...I was very involved in picking it out, so I have only asked my future fiance to decide how the stone should be mounted (in line or at a diagonal). I love it both ways and think it just makes the ring totally different...what do you guys think?
Also, these pics are of the unpolished mold for the ring...
