No. My cycles were 23 days on average my first three months of BC and I got a BFP on my first try.
I hear as long as they are regular that it should be fine. My cycles are about 33-34 days and I thought it was kinda long. I'm not a doctor though so I would ask your OB about it.
Do you know how long your luteal phase is? I think that's the key number. If it's too short, it can cause issues.
I think my LP is ok, it's been 10 or 11 each time and I think 10 is the minimum right?
Yep, LP is the important part and 10 is minimum ok. Bright side: you get more chances, more quickly!
@BlueDolphin:if you chart your cycles by taking your temp first thing in the morning and observing cervical mucus, you'll be able to figure out which day you ovulate. The length of time between ovulation and the end of the cycle is your luteal phase.
Not at all too short! Mine were averaging 24/25 days and I'm now 16wks pregnant :-) I highly suggest charting as some of the other bees suggested above. I used fertilityfriend.com and it made it really simple and helped me really know my cycle better. Since your cycle is shorter than the average 28 day cycle, you're likely ovulating much earlier than the average day 14. I found I was usually ovulating on day 10 or 11 which still left me with a perfectly long enough luteal phase :-)
@bellamargot: yes, i'm actually using FF, have been for about 6 months or so. i really like it bc, yes, i do O about day 11, which is pretty early! :) glad to hear short cycles are ok!
i am a 25 day girl and i am now 6 weeks preganant i found i was ovulating early too day 11 on average so nope you should be fine.
and the month we finally got prgnant by all the charts numbers etc etc we totally "missed" our window so to speak and still managed a BFP lol
just goes to show
good luck
@ecomaha: thanks for asking this question! I have been wondering too.
I went off BCP about 3 or 4 months ago and my cycles have been 23 or 24 days long. When I was younger, way before BCPs, my cycles were more like 28 days long, so this has me a little worried.
I have no idea how long my LP is but I will chart for the first time this month. I hope it's 10 days or longer!
I'm glad to hear that many of you still got BFPs with shorter cycles.
@BlueDolphin: Your LP is the number of days after you ovulate, before the next cycle. You won't know what it is unless you are charting temps, taking OPKs, or monitoring other signs of O (cervical mucus, O pains).

My cycles for the last 3 months have been 24, 26, and 24 days. I've been off BCP for those 3 months. Are my cycles too short to get a BFP? I'm just not sure what is considered 'ok' for cycle lengths. Thanks!
