I am. I'm wearing an elbow length with blusher -- and YES I'm wearing the blusher! I love the way they look.
Whatever! Go for it!!!! Those naysayers can go pound sand. I wore a veil for my encore wedding for the ceremony.

@KelliP: Yayy! Do it!
@mkendrick: You made a BEAUTIFUL bride!
No veil- but -I am wearing fresh flowers with ribbon :) - that birdcage veil is LOVELY!
@KelliP: great minds think alike! this is EXACTLY what i want to do too! only i want my birdcage made of russian veiling instead of tulle, and i want to go all feathers with the fascinator, lol.
appropriate my foot. traditionally, veils had nothing to do with how many times you were married. (actually, since most marriages were arranged and the couple never met before their wedding day, and brides were generally VERY young, they usually had more to do with hiding the brides tears, and making sure the groom committed to her before seeing her.)
I'm wearing a veil for my encore wedding. Reason # 1 is that it's my FH's first wedding is he is very traditional. And Reason # 2 ......it completes the outfit! LOL
@cardus...you really made me laugh out loud!!!!! HAAAAAA!!!! Well I won't be wearing a veil to hide my tears OR my ugly!
Not considered appropriate? Who gives two shits. Wear what you want to wear.
Hearing stuff that like pisses me off. .
I don't care if you've been married 10 times or if your an 80 year old first time bride, wear what you want.
I am not wearing a veil, but will be wearing flowers in my hair. I am getting married on a beach and I think the veil would drive me nuts blowng in the wind. Has nothing to do with me being an encore bride.
I'm wearing a veil and if you like the way veils look on you then wear one. To hell with what ppl is appropriate...it is a wedding not a government run opperation where strict protocal must be observed or lives are at stake.
Besdies look at the pics of all the beautiful encore brides wearing veils on their big day!mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm kih∞˜,†§ o9o9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 m
@mkendrick: AMEN!!! I wore a cathedral veil and I loved it! I also wore white (well, ivory) and he cried his eyes out... :)
I bought a dress off of Ebay and it comes with a waist length veil, so I at least have the option. My first veil was shoulder length and I always regretted not having something longer.
I haven't decided on what kind of veil I'll be wearing, but I'll be wearing one.
I'm an encore and I got a cute little 1960's style veil that just poofs up and doesn't even hit my shoulders. I think this will also work well with my short hair, short dress, and my planned Vegas elopement. :)
I am also concerned about what people might say (huge Catholic family) but it is more of a flirty veil than a serious veil.
@MKendrick--gorgeous!
@Cardus--thanks for clarifying the tradition.
@mkendrick: LOL it is your fault that I am wearing a veil - everytime I see your pictures I just swoon!!! Still trying to figure out if I am wearing the long 1 T which I think looks better with my face or the shorter 2 tier which looks better with my dress.
But I am an encore bride over 40 and I am going to love wearing my veil!
I had no intentions of wearing a veil until you posted this link...I looove that style...now I want one!
I am not wearing a veil. I will be wearing a beaded headband. Wear whatever you like....it's your day!
I'm wearing a bridal headband and an ivory elbow length veil low on the back of my head. My mom tried to ask me if I thought it was appropriate, so I told her "I'm not concerned with appropriate!, Does it look pretty?" LOL

Ladies,
I was wondering if anyone is weiring a veil for their encore marriage. I wasn't planning on it, but have become captivated by the bird cage style and thought I would like to wear one during the ceremony. I have heard lots of people say (at bridal shops, and in chatting with friends and family) that it's not considered "appropriate", but I also notice that in many areas those old ideas a ebbing. SOOOOOO...just wondered if anyone is wearing one!
This is sort of what I was thinking I'd like to wear...

I could take out the little veil part in the front and leave the fascinator in my hair....I just love it and think its so dreamy and romantic...but I also don't want to look silly...I already feel like I'm pushing the limits a little bit by wearing a wedding dress, having a wedding, etc, etc, etc...(you know the routine :)
:) Kelli
