Ever since we announced our engagement everyone is asking who will do the solos…I was never a person to sit and listen to someone sing not even really at concerts (kind of makes me laugh) so naturally I said NO solos. Over time though I have realized that this may be a nice touch I may want to add so I don’t want to rule it completely out. My question is what kind of solos do they sing? When? I don’t know alot of love songs so help!

@excited8164:No singing. A harpist will play for the guests.

My dad is going to sing “The Prayer” with slightly altered lyrics. I think it’s a nice blessing and expresses the hope of many people in the audience especially our parents. He’s singing it after walking me down the aisle.

Not AA but we had a soloist in church. She sang Ave Maria during the processional when the mothers walked in. She sang one song during the mass/ceremony the Irish wedding song which is really nice and has nothing to do with Ireland. I think she also sand a song during the recessional. She is a good family friend and I kind of just left the songs and placement up to her and the organist as, like you, I’m terrible with songs. We were happy with her selections and generally happy and with our decision to include her in the ceremony.

I never saw the use of soloists. They annoy me LOL. Our harpist is playing our music. She is the only music we will have.

I will be having two people do solos at our wedding. One is a good friend that will be singing during the processional of the our Godmothers, Grandmothers and Mothers. The other, my cousing will be singing while I am walking down the aisle. He also sung at my proposal, which was a major suprise to me! But I always knew he would sing while I was walking down the aisle! It’s such an intimate feel!
