It doesn't matter as long as there is something in the middle of the table : (66 votes)

Yeah, it’s ok to do something without flowers.  I’ve seen so many cute centerpieces with pumpkins, vegetables, books, decorative wood branches, or even just candles.

I am of the opinion that floral centerpieces are not necessary (we are having pumpkins instead!).  I would suggest using the candles if you like them, but to do the same thing for all the tables, rather than half and half.  If you still want to incorporate flowers you could put them elsewhere in the room.

that would be cool to stagger around the room different centerpieces, in my eyes anyway i think it would keep my eyes moving around the room to see what other tables you have any images that would help here 🙂

I was just at a wedding that used lanterns. It was LOVELY.

Candle centerpieces will look fine.  I would choose tablecloths in a bold color to make the tables feel more full.  White tablecloths tend to look more empty of decorations.  If they offer cheaper white tablecloths then I would think about buying some cheap fabric to do a runner or small overlay in the center of the table.

I’m not doing floral centerpieces. They’re expensive and I don’t see the point. I think those candles look lovely!

@LadySmurph:  I think the candle holders are really nice.  And I like the apple place card holder idea.  Would you use real apples?

@LadySmurph:  Not going to lie, I’m loving all your ideas! I would have also gone 1/2 flowers and 1/2 candles, and I would DIE dor a mini apple pie place card!

In your poll, you forgot to include the option “I never thought about centrepieces, because I’m not having any” lol

Everything you showed on this page looks great, believe me. I am amazed at how it seems to be an important topic (centrepieces) all over the boards. I am absolutely not judgmental, just very surprised, as it is something we never do where I come from in our weddings (which are VERY simple lol).

But I am marrying a guy who is used to more expensive and elaborate weddings, so I told him if he wants stuff like centrepieces and sheets on the chairs, he is paying for it haha!

Have fun planning, but don’t worry too much. Everything looks great!

We had lanterns with candles in them set on bigish mirrors to make the most of the candle light. Florist gave us some petals as part of the deal and we scattered them around sparingly. I honestly don’t like floral centerpieces.

@LadySmurph:  I had lanterns as my centerpieces. I don’t think its important to have flowers. I like the apple name holder!
