Go imitation or make one. Sashes are extremely simple to make, plus you can customize the fabric, width, color, and pattern, and it is a TON more affordable. If you need instructions, I can help you!
Check out Etsy- or even better Alchemy on Etsy.com and you can upload a photo of the particular ML sash you like and you might get a copycat more affordably. Plus, you get set the price perimeters :)
It really is just a ribbon, albeit a silk one. Have a local seamstress do it or go to etsy as laurajane suggested.

Hi Hive!
I'm currently struggling to figure out whether I should buy a $650 Monique Lhuillier-sash from my dress store, or whether I should just buy an imitation version from an online store. I'd be willing to pay for the difference if there really is a difference, but I can't tell! The sales associate who was trying to sell me the ML sash mentioned that the ML sashes are silk - does anyone know if this is true, or did she just mean that it feels silkier? And can you really tell the difference? It just seems like a lot of money for what is essentially a ribbon!
And for some advice - if you had a sash, where did you get it from?
Thanks in advance!
