So it’s been a complete HASSLE trying to get my bridesmaids together to try on dresses between work schedule conflicts and them thinking it was too early to order (because some said they wanted to lose weight) so finally I told them they HAD to order their dress by today to get their dresses in June (my wedding’s July 4). So they went and tried this one dress on, sent me a picture, I thought it looked cute and gave them the OK to order. So I go with my sister today to order hers and see it in person and now I’m bummed because I’m wondering if it looks too short for a wedding? (or if its ok because its a summer wedding?) :-/ And now it’s too late to change it because today was the deadline to order and the other girls already paid for theirs! I’m just hoping it looks ok because their all 5’3 and shorter. I also don’t really like that dangly tie thing that hangs down 🙁 Do you think it would better without it???
Let me know what your thoughts are? THis is the dress:

It’s a little too short, in my opinion, for a wedding. It’s a beautiful dress though. And if they are all sporting legs like that model, they’ll look hot!

super cute! and not too short (on the model) for a July wedding IMO. Not sure if it’s the same length on your BMs though. Maybe there is room in the hem just in case?

If they can bend over without their butt showing then it’s not too short.
I think the length looks absolutely fine on the model.

I would normally say short, but the girls are 5’3″ so it will easily be 2″ longer and skim their knees lenghtwise.

I think that it will be fine if they are all 5’3” or shorter!!! I’m 5’1′ (on a good day) and everything fits long on me!

@BrandiRyan: I think it looks fine on the model. Unless your bridesmaids are over 6 feet tall, it should be fine on them too. Very cute for a summer wedding.

THanks for all the opinions.. I feel a little better now about the length (do they always look shorter on the models??)

I’m 5’0 and my sister is 5’1 and everything I buy that is “above knee” or “mid thigh” usually comes down much lower on me, and your girls are petite – the model is not. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, and since all your girls loved it and bought it I think you should let them keep their choice.

I think it depends on how thin the bridesmaids are. The larger the woman, the harder it is to maneuver in a short skirt. But I suppose if all the girls are 5’3″, that will help.
Generally it’s best to pick a design that can be flattering on numerous kinds of body shapes. This one is flattering to a very thin type of build, but I don’t think it’s a very verstile cut for other body types. If your bridesmaids have a larger cup size than C, it will also prove to be difficult for them to find a way to have enough breast support in a dress like this.
But maybe all your friends are super thin? If so, then I think this dress design will work nicely.

I think its a bit too short. For me something that short would be much shorter in the back because of my rump and when I sit my butt would for sure be out. I love the style, just a bit longer.

It looks fine on the model and I bet on short little girls like yours it will be even longer!
