Weddingbee boards

We have a venue that's normally sunny, but experiences rain every so often (small showers), and as an added protection we'd like to order some paper or nylon parasols for our guests.  Has anyone else had experience with using paper parasols for small rain showers?  Nylon parasols?  

Do they actually work for a little while, or do they completely break apart?  Note we're not looking for the parasols to last, we just want something guests can duck under if a quick shower passes through.
