My mom seems to be completely against favors. (My parents are paying for the majority of the wedding.) She insists that they’re a waste of money and usually are left behind by guests. My idea was to have a photobooth (she seems against this as well… I guess she is pretty old-school) and the guests that took pictures in the booth would be able to keep a copy as a favor from the wedding.
Is anyone having a photobooth? Do you think that these photos would suffice as favors? HELP!

@starz88962: I totally would be happy with receiving my photobooth picture as a favor 🙂
Most weddings we go to don’t even do favors. They really are usually a waste of money .

I am doing a photobooth as well–I am doing that as favors. Also, perhaps a DIY candy bar, but only if I am some leftover cash towards the end. Most favors are dumb anyway. Nobody wants crap and just throws it away. : ) I think you will be fine!

that’s exactly what we did and everyone looooved it!
we provided our own props and scrapbooking supplies (it was cheaper than having the photobooth company provide them) and everyone had a blast taking pics and we love going thru our scrapbook and reading everyone’s messages.

We are doing a photo booth with our names and date on them – also doing a lil candle with our names and dates on them… Figure everyone may not take pictures especially some of the older people so figured they’d have some takeaway and if they leave them then I’ll use the candles 🙂

We had a photobooth, but we didn’t consider it our favors bc we really wanted a photobooth. FYI one of the best things that we did was include a book with pens, glue, scissors, and stickers by the photobooth and people put their photos in the book with messages. It was awesome to go through after the honeymoon!
For us, not everyone used the photobooth, especially the older people. You get a disk back with all the photos, so we know this for sure. Some people were pretty silly in there and didn’t include their ‘glamor shots’ or ridiculously silly photos in the book.
My favorite favors are edible. I always eat those right away. DH favorite favors are practical things that people can use. We ended up having a ton of things that people could take away, but it was what we wanted and we got the items slowly over time and it helped ease the cost of all of it. If you have the finances, I’d recommend buying the favors yourself if your mom is hassling you about it. It’s your wedding, not your mom’s! If you want the photobooth, or anything else, than go for it!

Yes! Plus your guests will probably keep them!

Absolutely! I would rather have that then a little plant or something useless.

We are having a photobooth. I know a lot of people use them as favors, but I have never seen them as favors, it’s just something fun at weddings!
I too think favors are a waste, but people always seem to just do the cheapest or easiest thing. I thought about what I would like to recieve as a favor and came up with wine! I priced out mini bottles and they seem to be the same price, if not more expensive than a regular size bottle. You can go to your local liquor store and make a deal on buying wine in bulk. You can order custom labels for cheap off etsy, or make them yourself. Plus if people leave them behind, you get to drink it later!! We are also doing a CD that contains some of our favorite songs, love songs, and we are including our first dance song. You can find custom CD cases on Etsy. We plan on burning copies of the CD, and also covering the CD with a picture from our E-session as a DIY project.

We’re doing photbooth favors and providing picture frames with magnets on the back. Will also do a treat table if we have the money.

Yes they are the best favour ever !!! People will have fun and then take them home too !!!

For how expensive they are, they better darn well be considered a favor.

I am doing the photo booth favors as well! I went to a wedding last summer and I thought it was the best idea! The photo booth prints out two copies of the pictures, and one goes in the guest book where they can write a little message and the other goes to them as a favor.. I think it’s a great idea!
