For picture purposes, I think they are great. Obviously, they aren’t going to look extremely real, but looking at the pictures you wouldn’t be able to tell. Many brides use fake petals and I think they still turn out beautiful.

My entire 21 piece bridal package is made from silk flowes, my bouquet, the bridal party bouquet and bouts, mother corsages. And they are beautiful, I bought them off of ebay. They will photograph just as nice as fresh, the only way you would know they were fake is if you touched them.

I think the petals are fine, it will photgraph just as lovely. 🙂

I think that would be just fine, they are going to be walked and trampoled (sp?) on anyway!

I think they would look fine. But check with your venue first, I know mine and most others has a “absolutely no artificial flower petal policy”.

@TogetherThroughLife:  I don’t think so but I’m biased….. I make a runner with literally thousands of artificial petals! It looks fabulous in pictures! It totally gave the ceremony a wow factor and everyone went on and on about it! Let me know if u want to see pics to get an idea!

I did the same idea with the petals and they looked great.  You can’t tell in the pictures and it helped ward off any allergic reactions!  My MIL is allergic to certain flowers and I didn’t want to have her go for an Epi pen because of the flowers!

@whiskeyandrhinestones:  I am intrigued. What would be the purpose of such a policy?

@Tangled:  Some of the churches around here require you use real flowers, and leave them at the church [so during church hours they know there was a wedding, and they like the decorations]. I find this silly.. why would i spend $300-$500 to leave them at the church! We decided to skip the church and have our ceremony at the reception venue instead!

@TogetherThroughLife:  my favorite aisle runner has always been blinchic1983’s swirl petal runner. She made it with fake petals, and it’s amazing

I’m getting married outside, so it would be difficult to clean after artificial petals have been blowing around.  Real flower petals or nothing is the name of the game!

I think the cheaper ones look great from afar in pictures, but not so great up close. In the end I decided against using them myself. Not that I don’t love silk flowers, I decorate my vases at home with silk flowers.
