I honestly hadn’t thought about it but our colors are Orange and Navy … and I wouldn’t want to cut into a cake flashing either one of those colors lol

I agree with @CallmeC

Pick flavors that taste good, even though they don’t necessarily match.  For example, my colors are purple and gray.  My fillings will range from chocolate frosting to raspberry preserves to Bavarian creme. 

All this cake talk is making me hungry 🙂

Our cake is going to be white on the outside and dark brown and yellow with red and white on the inside.   I think sometimes we brides get caught up in the details that no one else would notice.  Get the cake and fillings you want, dont worry about sticking with your theme.

The outside of the cake is really the only part that should coordinate (if you want it to). No-one cares about what color the cake is as long as it tastes good. With that said, our colors were burnt orange and chocolate brown and we had alternating chocolate and vanilla cake. Our cake selection had nothing to do with our colors. It just kinda worked out that way.
