I was just wondering if there are any brides out there who’s father is not walking you down the aisle. My father has not been a part of my life for the past 15 years and in fact wont even be at the wedding. However, my brother is walking me down the aisle. I’m just trying to come up with songs for the dance. I was thinking Kenny Rodgers – through the years.
Any thoughts or ides??

My bro is walking me down, my dad wasnt walking me down the aisle even before he died (a couple months ago by his own cowardly hand) and wasnt invited to my wedding either. I have no clue about the dance song!

my brother didn’t walk me down, but we had a “first dance” – he chose a super fast song we just boogied it down to. Not sure what it was, but it was SUPER fun!

My brother-in-law is walking me down the aisle. He is more like a brother to me. He’s been there for me through thick and thin since I was 14, which is more than I can say for my father who has never done a thing for me. I plan on doing something fun for the brother/sister dance since we both love cheesy choreography.
@blingbride623 – I think that song choice is sweet.
@MrsNeutrino – I am sorry for your loss.

My brothers(both younger) are walking me down the aisle-one on either side. I’m doing the traditional Pachelbel canon in D. When I get to the front pew I will have my mom hand me my bouqet. My dad will likely be at the wedding, but we have such a rough relationship that I just can’t picture him giving me away.

My younger brother walked me down the aisle–my dad passed away from cancer years ago. We had our dance at the reception to “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” from Toy Story.

I had a brother and an uncle walk me down! My father passed away. Do whatever works for you, just have it be someone special! And a woman can do the job too, there are no rules 😉

My brother is walking me down the aisle. My dad passed away from cancer when I was 12, and since then my brother who is the oldest out of the 3 of us (I’m the baby) has been like a father to me. When I asked him to walk me down the aisle he was so touched he cried.
I would like to do something in my dad’s honor as well, I just don’t know exactly what yet. At the same time though, I sort of don’t want to because I know I will just lose it.

My brother is walking me down the aisle too…I’m not really into slow songs and it’s going to be weird to dance with my brother. But I was thinking of doing “Unforgettable” by Nat King and Natalie Cole.

blingbride623: my brother walked me down the aisle, but we didn’t do a dance. It just wasn’t for me, but I think that the song you are considering is a really good choice.

8 my brother and my mom walked me down the aisle. Our brother sister dance was to “you’ve got a friend in me, ” by Randy Newman.
