i’m trying to figure out what the heck i’m going to do when i go home. i withdrew from school here, because i was truly unhappy. i didn’t like what i was doing, or where the program was going. so, i withdrew. however, after being in college consistently (mostly part time with 1-2 classes a semester, aside from maybe 2 years where i was full time) for almost 10 years, i’m nowhere close to an actual degree. so i’ve been trying to figure out my options.
the community college at home, which i attended for years part time, offers a wedding planning course (it’s partnered with the wedding planning institute). i’ve always been great at party planning and things like that, and i wanted to do the course years and years ago before i decided i wanted to do college. but, it didn’t happen because they didn’t offer the course for like, 3 years. so instead, i started doing “real” college courses. as much as i love design, and still want to get into wedding invitation design, i’d also love to do wedding and event planning.
so i’m wondering, are there any event/wedding planning bees who can tell me whether it’s worth taking the course or not? is it hard to get started as a planner after you finish the course?
thanks in advance!
