I'm a Memphis Bride by way of Olive Branch. Lived my whole life up until last year in Memphis, moved to OB last year. I'm getting Married in Collierville, Tn. Anyone know someone who got ordained online , married someone and it was totally legal?
I don't want to use ministers in a minute but don't have a home church so was going to have an awesome friend go online and marry us. Problem is I'm seeing that in TN they might not recognize it as legal. Any ideas?
I'm not a Memphis native but I was just in the area to go to the airport! I thought I'd share an experience that might happen to your wedding guests who are visiting the area for the first time. My family was at a family wedding in Mississippi, and decided to tour Graceland before going to the airport. We had about an hour to spare, and thought that it would be a fun quick trip. Unfortunately, we didn't know that the cost was $30 dollars per person just for the house, and had already paid the $10 parking fee. We decided that spending so much for just a quick sightseeing trip wasn't worth it. (If we had had a couple hours to wander through it would have been a different story, but it seemed a little pricy for such a short time. Seeing this post made me think that you will probably have some out of town guests who would like to go on the tour. You may want to give them a heads up on the fee, because if they are interested in visiting they will need to know it, and if they are like us... They would rather not spend $10 just to see a gate that you can drive past for free. Hope you have a fun time!

How did you ask her? Did she stay for the ceremony?
I really wanted someone that knows us to marry us, someone that could tell stories or make it very personal without having to tell him what to say. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Great florist in Memphis: English Garden in east memphis. Awesome.
Heard Ivey Bright isn't there anymore, but they do amazing work. I have used them for the last 15 years.
For my former wedding to my ex, and for my fathers' funeral, and for my grandparents too. Any special occasion in Memphis or event gets me sending flowers from that place!
@soon2beeMe: Hi! Sorry for the delay. I just called the city of Germantown, and asked to get an appointment. I spoke with her over the phone, about details, thats about it. She did the ceremony in her office, with about 15-20 of our family members around. The only thing is I don't think she travels, you have to go to the court! Sorry I can't be any more help, but let me know if you have any more questions!

As far as florists go I believe Angela Dacus (she may have gotten married) is a decent florist. Her pix are always amazing. I am not sure about the prices though. You may be able to find a freelancer if you go to the floral markets though...
