Well, after the holidays I plan to avoid foots high in fat and calories so I can actually fit into my dress/not cringe at my pictures! I figure it's pointless to start now... Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorites so why punish myself?!
I try not to avoid specific foods, because then they're all I can think about!!! I just end up eating more of it than I would have originally! :-)
I'm not trying to 'avoid' foods, just trying to be sensible in what I'm eating and exercising. I know that if I try and 'avoid' foods, I will want to eat them even more and eventually not only fall off the wagon but jump off with 2 feet.
Bella
PS: OMG those candy bars are soooooo good, its worth it to cheat with that lol
I am trying to stay away from dairy b/c I get super bloated. I am also staying away from any carbonated drinks b/c they sometimes break me out....32 days left =)
@ HoneyBear - bread...beautiful bread...
and cheese...
and I like french fries..
and cake...
and...
I cut back on sugar for four months before the wedding.
A week before, I didn't have anything spicy or that would cause bloat (like broccoli) and cut back on sodium.
I cut back on sugar & dairy (the latter on my dermatologist's recommendation, 1 mo. before the wedding) basically most things with "empty calories" for 2 months before the wedding
My trainer had four things to avoid
Sugar
Flour
Salt
Milk
Yeah, easier said than done. BUT I listened to her and dropped weight by eating clean. I went through a TON of eggs and became very good at cooking chicken a million different ways. lol
Sugar and really salty foods (no pizza for me!)
I really want to cut down on alcohol, but that's been the hardest! I'm really used to having a glass of wine or beer at dinner.
I really want to cut back on all sugar, processed foods, and anything with flour. Also, as the wedding gets closer, I will definitely cut back on sodium (salt) to reduce bloating. Easier said than done though (esp, since I have splurged the last two days on french fries and ice cream!!!)
I'm going back on my gluten free diet after the holidays. Other than that, I'm trying to avoid processed foods as much as possible and watch my sodium intake.
stay away from salt and alcohol 24 hours before so you don't bloat.
I am not the one to talk to about diets I always break them!!! but they say if you don't eat any processed food it works a dream....ie nothing that comes pre-packaged, refined sugar is the worst.... Sounds pretty good to me and I'm thinking I'll give it a go!
I avoided sodium for the week leadfing up to the wedding
In general I avoid the "whites"--white starches, white sugars, liquor, etc. Complex carbs only, and only at breakfast and lunch.
Oh my goodness! So much to avoid :( I LOVE food and even when im upset i eat... i need to find will power so i dont have to duck tape my dress on me
After my flu, I've been avoiding dairy because it produces phlegm. (Yuck!) My boss is vegan and she's rubbing off on me... it's latte season and I've been rocking the soy! Oi!
On the flip side, I am going to try to eat lots of protein and veggies after the holiday when I get into my wedding diet.
I need to cut out carbs (especially bread/starch) because I dont burn enough calories to need as many as I eat.
Also, sugar and fried foods just to try to cut some of the fat. Most of my sugar is from soda and sweet tea. I am trying to get used to 1/2 sweet tea, 1/2 unsweet tea so it isn't as much sugar.
I think the best way to lose weight is portion control. Have a little bit of everything, but not too much. I lost 8lbs before the wedding just by avoiding all-you-can-eat buffets (we have a ton of these near where I work) and snacking on fruits & vegetables instead of chips or brownies. Good luck!
all foods are good for you as long as you eat them in moderation... thats the key. If your craving ice cream have it! just not a whole bowl. have two bites just to satisfy the cravings. You can do this with all foods. I lost 20 lbs by eating less but more often and still enjoying the foods i love.

I'm trying to cut back on sugar. It's really hard, but I know processed sugar is bad for your body/skin and I have problem skin anyways...
I fell of the wagon today though. I had a chocolate/almond candy bar. My boss bought it for me today (nice huh? lol). It's one of those school fundraiser ones - you know - the really expensive but super tasty kind. One look at it and I couldn't say no.
She didn't know I was trying to cut back on sugar :P
