So I decorated these letters and I am just kind of…I don’t know. I am not very crafty…Are they ok or would you be like WTH if you saw them at a wedding? (They aren’t supposed to spell Mister, thats just what our initials happen to be)

@melitabonita: I will be honest…I don’t like them, the sloppiness of the pearl beads is making them look bad. Perhaps you could go with out the beading and just leave the floral.

@melitabonita: I think I’d like them better without the pearl border

I had to individually hot glue all the pearls on, so I can’t take them off without ruining all of it. They were kind of a last minute add on because I needed to hide the seams from the paper. The R doesn’t look as bad as the M.
I am thinking of just having them tied to the back of our chairs, thus being not as noticable. I don’t know. Man…this sucks!

I agree with the PP’s, I think the issue is with the pearls. I really like the colors and flowers, but I think the crooked pearls are not adding anything to it. I’d either redo the pearls a little more neatly or replace it with a different border – maybe some ribbon or a smaller strand of pearls.

Not sure how much this would cost, but could you fill in the entire front of the letter with pearls? That would hide the uneven-ness of the border. Or if you redo them, get the pearls on a string to help with them being straight.

@melitabonita: i don’t like them. if i were a guest, my first thought would be “oh! a family member must’ve made them and forced her to use them.” then my second thought would be “why didn’t they make one that said MRS?”

Personally I would take that flower off the middle of the M

sorry but I’m not a fan. they look really sloppy.

@lina010: +1 The pearls are too sloppy imo. Are they individual? What about trying a strand? The font/shape of the letter is (sorry for lack of better word) juvenile to me too, what about a more script-ish or font with more elegant curves and proportion.

First of all, I think the lighting isn’t doing it any favors. Any opinions we have are going to be slightly off just because we’re not seeing true colors or proper details (like are those flowers violet or green or grey? I can’t tell).
I don’t really care for the pearls around the side, they’re a bit too big and seem slightly tacky in my eyes.
But (BIG BUT), bear in mind you’re asking us to nitpick. I think if we were guests at your wedding, we’d see it, smile at the work done and move in, thinking nothing beyond that. Our job is to look at the details but when everything comes together, this small things won’t matter as much.

@pinkshoes: They are individual, they were a PITA and took me a couple hours to do 🙁 They are the standard font of cardboard letters that I see at every craft store, so there’s not really anything I can do there, even if I re-do everything I don’t really have any other options.

Being brutally honest, I don’t really like them. I think both the pearls and the flowers make the letters- to use the horrendous word!- tacky. I like @pinkshoes suggestion of a more elegant script

I would have to agree with the middle flowers on the M looking a little out of place, HOWEVER I am not so crafty, and I made a card box that I thought wasn’t good, but everyone else loves it.
No matter what everyone else thinks, if you want them on your chairs or what not, go for it. Its something you wanted to make for YOUR wedding. Go for it. No all of us got the crafty gene 🙂

How about if you print off a really beautiful M and R on square cardstock, individually frame them (with matting in your colors perhaps), then put a flower or two in one of the corners? You could save them and put them in your house after as a memento!
The letters you have now are pretty rough, I will admit (only because you asked)
