I am feeling a bit discouraged by my coffee filter rose project and need some advice.
I followed this tutorial to make them with a few modifications (the floral tape was driving me absolutely crazy, so I am using another kind and will just have to keep the stems out of view… which was the plan anyway). I am also adding more petals to mine than this poster did to make the flowers fuller. They are extremely cheap to make (I spent $18 on materials and can easily make all I will need with what I bought) and are the best solution I can come up with since I don’t really have a flower budget, but they are just… so much work. It takes about 15 minutes to put each flower together, not counting cutting out petals and painting them. I plan to have 3 colours of flower (this orange, another orange, and the occasional silver accent flower). Do they look too cheap, or are they a good solution to live flowers? Should I scrap them and just try to do flower-free centerpieces? Let me know what you guys think.

They are lovely. Lots of DIY’s are very time consuming, but it’s your time that is saving your money.

I think they look wonderful! For that amount of money (or lack of) I would DEF do these. Just do a few at a time so you don’t get burnt out.

They look great! DIY typically takes so much time. You just have to pace yourself and not try to do too many at once.

From the subject line and your post, I was expecting to see something underwhelming. However, your roses are beautiful! Great job!
