I don’t know if I’m crafty enough to turn out a really cool card box. I found these two bird cages last night, but I’m not sure which one to choose. I would paint whichever one is chosen with an antiqued silver finish since I hope to use mercury glass through out the reception space. I would also do something to give a little more of a modern edge (i.e. letter garland spelling out cards).
My inspiration board is here
Please vote on which one you think would work best…otherwise I’ll continue looking for something else.
Sorry for the large pics…

@creativeplannertobee: Thanks! What is it that you don’t like about #2?
For those of you that recommends ditching the idea, can you shed some light on what you would do instead?

I love #1 because I think the detailing gives it a more elegant feel than birdcage 2. And I’m a fan of clean lines. 🙂

I used #1 in my wedding!!!!!

I like #2 because it doesn’t look like a traditional birdcage!

Love #1 over #2. Looks more elegant (IMO).

@Mrs.Mittens: I think that is what’s drawing me to #2, it’s non-traditional.

@Gemstone and @eupenmalmody: Do you think once I paint it, add ribbon and flowers it will look elegant?

I prefer #1 as well, especially after you paint it silver. I think #2 is too rustic looking and even with it painted silver, I don’t think it fits with the rest of your inspiration board.

@milesbella: Thanks! I’ve decided to keep the square birdcage, but look around a little more before committing to it.
