My BFF and I are both engaged and her wedding will be less than two months after mine. I purchased my gown at the beginning of the year and she just is about to purchase her gown! I’m more than thrilled she found a dress she loves, but I feel like it’s a tad bit too similar to mine. /= I understand the silhouette is the same and there are some differences, but still.. I was hoping she would get something that would be totally different from mine! She really did LOVE the dress on her, so I was excited for her.. but still! Are they too similar or am I just overreacting?

Btw, she tried on the Kitty Chen sash with her dress, but she’s not planning on getting it (thank goodness!) because I ordered that sash with my dress! I think it would have looked wayyyy too similar if she wore the same exact sash too! /=
Let me know what you guys think?

I’m biased because my cousin picked a dress like mine….twice lol. So I TOTALLYYYYYYYY get where you are coming from.
BUT that being said, I’ve come to realize that nobody will notice like we do. We stare are dresses at least an hour a day lol….think about 2 peoples weddings you went to. Could you describe their dresses before being in engaged? I know I couldn’t really. I notice everything now because I’m planning a wedding, but you will look stunning…don’t worry!

I think they are different enough and your wedding will come first! no need to stress 🙂
BTW you look AMAZING! are you getting the dress in that color?

They don’t look that similar. There are similarities, but lots of people wear satin A-line dresses and no one cares.
My cousin picked a gold dress after I picked that colour for mine and I was stressing right up ’til her wedding (two weeks after mine) that there would be comments about the similarities, but no one noticed and they barely even looked the same colour.

They are both beautiful but very different. Dont worry!

I think that they are *somewhat* similar, but both are a very trendy style right now, so I don’t think it’s intentional or malicious on her part. Both dresses look great on each of you! Besides, the highlight of your dress is the colour, which is the stand-out aspect, so I think you will have a memorable dress regardless of how similar hers is.
Besides, even if the bees thought it was *too* similar, what can you do but make drama and ruin her dress-choosing experience? Not cool.
Don’t stress….you’ll both be amazingly lovely on your day(s)! 🙂

They’re very similar, but it seems like at least 50% of brides have a variation of that style now, so I don’t think it’s worth freaking out about.

@totheislnds: Mine will be in ivory, which is the same color she’s ordering her’s in. Thanks for your input though! ;D

@SpecialSundae: That’s how I feel! lol, but I know no one will really notice, unless they’re bride to be too! lol

its her wedding too i’m pretty sure that since she is getting married AFTER you she should be the one upset if the look similar cause it would look like she coppied- they don’t look simliar to me anyway- not for a wedding dress any way.. basically most wedding dresses look the same ha you have 4-5 differnt silloutes and then different decorations but they are white and pretty lol thats all. lol
