I keep reading in fashion magazines that thongs are not as popular as they used to be. I also hear friends saying that they would wear boyshorts every single time if they could. Apparently boyshorts tend to be the most popular choice these days. My opinion is biased, I adore thongs , I find them comfortable and sexy, I almost never have ”wedgie incidents” and they are still my number one choice.
What do you think?

I love thongs but I’m wondering how they can go out of style? Who determines this? Lol I hate boy shorts they are restrictive and can be seen under your pants. I only wear them under a dress.

Birdi: That’s my question too. How can they go out of style? I like boyshorts but they are not the new internet or something lol
Plus thongs may be uncomfortable for some women ( I get that) but they are the easiest choice. I mean what else could you wear with a tight skirt?

Jennybee224: Right! I think the thong haters are buying the wrong size. I love VS lace thongs.

Thongs are a fashion trend? well who would’ve thunk it. I’ve been wearing thongs for like eight years and no one told me! I wear cheeksters to bed sometimes, but mostly thongs. Who wants panty lines?

Jennybee224: Fashion magazines have a finite amount of stories they can use; hemlines, seasonal trends, designer/house gossip, and general “what’s in/what’s out”. This just sounds like tired reformulations of the same ol’-same ol’. I’d imagine sales of underware styles do ebb and flow, but seeing as I have no idea what type of underwear anyone outside of myself and my husband wears (I don’t go to the gym), it’s hard for me to fathom people following or organically percieving trends on this. Sounds like companies want to sell stuff with more fabric, likely at a higher price, so PR magic happens, a piece gets written, content is generated, hey presto it winds up in a searchable forum post = buzz that hopefully (for the whole food chain) gernerates sales. The self-fulfilling world of fashion.

Thongs are awfulll… so uncomfortable. They make me feel like I have a perennial wedgie.
I can only stand them for the bedroom when I’m wanting to feel sexy, but then again my hubby doesn’t like looking at them on me either! Surprisingly he prefers other styles like bikini and boyshorts.

I find boyshorts more comfortable, and I have never enjoyed the feeling of my bare ass on my pants.
Not to mention its not like they eliminate panty lines, they just move the lines up so any perv looking at your ass knows you’re wearing a thong

I love them and will wear them as a 60 yr old. (Haha) I don’t care if they’re in or out of fashion, I find them the most comfortable and hate panty lines. I find wedgies from other underwear to be way worse, there’s so much more fabric that can get stuck that it feels awful!
(Tip for women wanting to make thongs comfortable: sleep in one overnight. It works!)

I wouldn’t care what’s considered to be “in” for underwear. However, I’ve always hated thOngs. I see the lines of them in a tight skirt so in my opinion it gives a pantyline regardless. I prefer cheekies or boyshorts.

I’ve never considered a style of underwear being in or out.. especially one so practical. I couldn’t bring myself to wear anything else, other styles are not sexy at all and leave panty lines.

I’ve never liked thongs. I’ve tried them countless times, but they always feel like a constant wedgie and don’t like the look of them. I wear lace boyshorts a lot, which doesn’t create lines when worn with dress pants.

I’m waiting for the Australian bees to find this thread! Only if you think what you are describing as “thongs” are uncomfortable, try wedging a pair of Australian thongs up your bottom!

Jennybee224: Whaaaaaa? I only wear thongs! I hate panty lines and wedgies!!! Boy shorts are cute, but I have never had a pair that didn’t get “chewed up” by my butt lol! They just don’t work for my body type. I only wear “regular” underwear if I’m wearing a dress…a short one 🙂

Jennybee224: This is how I know I’m old, because I grew up in the golden age of thongs. Sisqo anyone?
Seriously though, you can pry my hanky pankies from my cold, dead hands.
