I’m going back and forth on buying a designer or getting one custom made. I’m having a black tie wedding that we’re spending a lot of money on and when I mentioned the cost of veils (and my hesitance to spend that much) to my fiance he told me to make sure that I don’t cut corners because people might be able to tell in pictures and whatnot.
Toni Federici is a brand that I’ve heard a lot about but I searched and some of them are around $400. I’m looking for a simple one layer cathedral length veil.

If you are looking for a plain veil then I don’t think they are worth the price. However if you are looking for something different or with beading/crystals then I would say they are worth every penny. She custom made my veil and it’s so beautiful and different and every bead is hand sewn that while it was a lot of money, it was worth every penny. But my friend just got married and had a plain cathedral veil done by Toni and you couldn’t tell the difference between that and any other veil.

I personally think that if you are going to opt for a very simple veil (with no embellishment) you should save yourself the $$$ as I’ve tried on everything from $100 to $2,000 sheer veils and they really did look basically identical. Also, if you’re going to wear a cathedral length, you’ll only be wearing it (most likely) for the ceremony, some photos and possibly a first dance?
HOWEVER, if you’re going to choose a veil with embellishment, I personally see the point in “investing”. The veil that I decided on is a custom Peter Langner from Kleinfelds BUT I didn’t choose it because it was expensive ($650 for fingertip length *yikes*) or because it was a designer label… I chose it because it has very delicate beading, embroidery and pearl work around the edges which really did look 1,000 times nicer than other cheaper veils I had tried on. If I wanted a simple veil though, there’s no way I would have spent so much.
I think simple veils all look gorgeous and provided it’s a nice fluid fabric, it’s going to look a million dollars whether you pay a little or a lot 🙂

I tried on my first Toni Federici veil today, I loved it. I didn’t love the price though… a steep $800 bucks for this Courtney Veil, with very intricate detail of Swarovski Crystals and Pearls

I love Toni Federici veils and plan on splurging on one. It was the essence of what a veil should be and what I want my veil to be.

I am such a hipocrite, I said I wouldn’t buy a 800$ veil, and look now I own one 🙁 Impulse shopping.
