Weddingbee boards
No, just a bee. I don't care for the Knot's boards. They're too confusning to me anyways.
I'm a member of the Knot, but didn't really go to those boards - just read articles and used their checklist. The boards aren't very user friendly (or just plain friendly!), and I just love the Bee!
I technically still have an account on the knot, but I haven't posted since I got chewed out for worrying about my friend and I having the same theme. I didn't want to stick around long enough to figure out how to delete my account, so I just deleted my post. I've heard their local boards are great, but mine wasn't active.
i have an account on the knot. i like the pics/lists/articles (even though many contradict themselves). as far are the boards, i don't use them. i've looked at them on occasion, but never posted. seems like a lot of people working out wedding frustration or validating what they themselves are doing rather than being open to new ideas & offering helpful suggestions. not always, but a lot of the time people there seem to just be mean & hurtful when they could say their opinion in a much nicer way that wouldn't be cruel to the poster.
I had an account on TheKnot when FI, and I first got engaged (Dec. '09), but rarely posted. I haven't been back there in ages.. I just don't see the point, as I love the Hive!
I only use the Knot for photo inspiration, more for brides I work with than myself. The boards there are confusing and really unfriendly I think.
used to be a knottie, but after seeing how rude most of the girls are, I came here! (super glad I did)
I only use The Knot for the checklist and personal website. I visit once a week, if that.
@Bellagiobride:I'm both, and i've come to realize that the *tone* is very different on the knot. It's just... if you read it the right way you still get the feedback you need. But for me, I feel like I almost have to "translate," and it's tougher for me.
I hate their inspiration stuff, but I loved it when I was "waiting."
I love the DIY and forum on the bee--like everything about them.
I like the ease of building your own website on the knot.
And for a lot of stuff--I prefer to go to family and/or spreadsheets to keep track of stuff, plan and generally not go insane.
I have a knot account still. I like to see how many days till I marry my man, and I like the checklist, but I dont post on the boards, I find the woman rude, I used to post before I found the bee, I was fed up with the girls and wanted to find somewhere else to be. Im so glad I found the bee!!
I have an account with the Knot but haven't used it. I can't post anything, I mean I can post stuff but no one can actually see my posts, I have contacted them and got very rude ppl answering back. So I still have it active because I like to read the arcticles that they have and their videos.
I love the Bee, I'm soo glad I'm here, I can talk with you ladies, I get feedback from you, you can actually see my posts!!! lol... I love being inspired by you and share with you.
I use the knot for the planner, budget, and guest list. I hate the format of the forum.

I created an account on the knot right after FI and I got engaged, but hardly ever visit. Actually, I only visit, whenever the bee is down. The bee is soo much better and user friendly!
I have an account on the knot, but only use it for the check list and some photo inspiration. Oh, and sometimes when I need a snark fix, I'll go read a couple boards. I usually read 2 or 3 and then come running back to the bee!
I go on there for my website and budget but thats about it. I love it here!

My month and local boards are better on The Knot.
I like the layout of the Bee better (and the ability to post a picture that's larger than a postage stamp), so I spend more time here.

I use the Knot for the checklist and photo inspiration. I read the articles from time to time when one catches my eye. Sometimes they're useful, sometimes they make me laugh. I have never, and will never use their forums.
I LOVE every part of the Bee. It's much more user friendly (and generally friendlier), and I feel like it's a closer knit community, rather than a bunch of snarky strangers.

I have never posted on there and I probably never will. I joined TK and at the same time I found the bee. Since finding the bee I haven't been back and I have no plans to visit.

I am on both but don't post on the Knot's boards cause the ladies there aren't as nice as they are here on the Bee. I just use the Knot's checklist and countdown thingy.
I use the knot for the picture gallerys and free website. I don't look at the boards or comment. I do not like the set up there at all and my local boards aren't updated very much so no help there either. Bee all the way! :)
I think I have an account on ALL the sites =) knot, brides, WC, etc.... but the BEE is the only place I actually post and chat. Everywhere else is just non supportive and fake. I just want access to all the pics and articles.
I was on both while I was planning. The Oct 2010 knot board was awesome, as was our local board, and I've formed amazing friendships with many of the girls there. Those two were the only Knot boards I really posted on. Now that we've graduated to the Nest, our club board sucks, so I'm posting here more, while lurking on a few other Nest boards. I appreciate honesty and differing opinions though, and I never thought any of the people I interacted with on a regular basis were rude. I know the people on the national boards can be a tougher crowd though. I actually think the Nest club boards are a little too sugar coated and fake. Weddingbee has a much better crowd of people. :)
I do have an account. I haven't posted on their boards in months, but our wedding website is through them and I like their budget and checklist features. Like others are saying, their boards just aren't for me. Obviously I like the boards here a lot better. :)
Exactly. The month boards and local boards are much better on the knot because you reach a bigger group of girls. And actually all the girls who were on my month and local boards are very nice. But I hardly ever went to the other specialized boards.
Months into my engagement it became too hard to maintain a "relationship" on both so I came here more for general planning advice.
I personally think there are plenty nice girls on the knot and plenty girls on here as well that can get nasty and vice versa!
I still have an account but stopped posting after I was reamed for asking about having our dog at our destination wedding. Now I just post here and feel more comfortable here so far.
Both. I spend waaaay more time here, and I just go to TK for one of the special-interest boards, which is much more active than the equivalent board here. And I like it here overall much better!

Are you on The Knot as well as the Bee? Why are you on both, and which do you prefer?
As far as myself, I am on both, but I find the folks on the knot to be rude and unsupportive, but I am asking because maybe that has just my experience. What say you???
