Are you a republican or democrat
Are you prolife or pro choice
Do you support equal marriage rights for the gay community
Do you believe God created all things or in evolution and the Big Bang
Are you Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu…. And on….
I bet a tread such as this would detoriate in to a heated battle in about 3 seconds. To me it’s the moissanite vs diamond equalivant. Why do we continue to participate in the all out war that is in every single moissanite thread? It is a round and round and round battle of opinions. No one will ever win. We all have our opinions and thoughts regarding all matters in life. This is the same situation. I read in the last moissy thread a heart breaking statement, a bee said she is not sure she will even share her moissy once she receives it as all moissy threads detoriate in to a battle. I’ve seen moissy threads where a very happy newly engaged bee set up a thread to show of her Ering and the thread exploded into a war. Such a shame.
The fact is: opinions are like a$$holes and everyone’s got one. LOL. Needed to end on a silly note 🙂
EDIT: I should also state that I am NOT looking for another moissanite discussion via this thread. I just wanted to state the obvious: no one wins in a battle of opinions.

Yea I tend to stay out of those threads, but people will continue to think what they want to think and to say what they want to say.

@als1214: Actually, all of the topics you named usually stay far more civil than the moissy vs diamond debacles. Anytime I see a thread that is remotely close to that topic, all I can think is……Kenny Loggins.

@housebee: that’s very true!

I find them so funny, to be honest. It’s always the same users, every single time and their arguements are just absolutely nuts, and they get so heated/mad over something so minute.
I love looking at sparklies, so I stay far away from those arguement posts and prefer Pricescope/Ring Envy over here.

@als1214 thank you for making such an honest point. I totally agree with you. An opinion cannot be right or wrong, that’s why it’s an opinion. I just don’t understand why people feel the need to be “right” even when they are wrong. I stay away, too.

Most of the threads you named have been discussed many times without deteriorating in a heated battle.

The diamond vs moissy “debate” only exists in the world of WBee, TK and other wedding websites. Most people don’t even know, or care, about moissys, diamonds, CZ’s or anything else.
I am also a Republican :p

@_gemma: ohhhh… What ever is pricescope and ring envy? Is it just photos, no discussions? Intrigued!
@Mrs_Amanda: I am for equal marriage rights for same sex couples. (see I bet we can state these opinions with out a murderous war) 😉

I hope these same bees have such strong opinions and desires to educate the world on matters that you know, actually matter.

@als1214: diamond forum (no sims/moissanite talk allowed, unless purely for scientific (ie-chemical make-up, optical differences etc.) is Pricescope and Ring Envy is all pictures (of any stone, sim/moissanite whatever)
It’s just so fun, I love reading proposal stories, upgrade stories, “dream ring finally!” stories, and all the photos and hand shots. Plus, it’s a great way to learn more on how to get great deals on diamonds (ie- going down in color, getting one with a strong fluor etc.) It’s awesome.

I saw the comment you are talking about and it broke my heart too. I feel so bad for that girl. I saw a thread about Moissanite on Off Beat Bride the other day and it was so nice and pleasant and everyone, regardess of what their stone was, was so jazzed about the OP’s choice of Moissanite, it really blew me away! Haha the Bee has made me so jaded.

I’ll be honest, I sit and read those threads and laugh my ass off. What a stupid thing to be so passionate about, in my opinion. Who CARES what anyone else wears on their finger? Who CARES if someone with a moissy lets others believe it’s a diamond, or even lies about it? Does it make the diamond on YOUR hand any less real? Of course not.
