I'm so excited! I just signed up for the first-time-ever-in-New-England WARRIOR DASH!
They are all over the US, www.warriordash.com!
3.02 “hellish miles” through mud, fire, hills, forests...
First you sprint to the summit of the Amesbury Snow Tube Park hill, then you go through tangling ropes obstacle, then through the woods, then you hit “blackout” area which looks like a tunnel or something… then “knee high hell” which is running through tire obstacles, then over a wooden barricade/wall, then over some cars in the “junkyard” and then sliding down a muddy slope, then scrambling under barbed wire in mud to the fire pit to the finish!

If you're in the MA area and want to join, PM me for my spreadshirt store, as I made team t-shirts!

Oh, and forgot to mention my favorite part! When you sign up, you get a FUZZY WARRIOR VIKING HAT!

I heard someone talking about this in my area recently. If I were in shape, I would totally do it, it looks awesome! As it stands, I wouldn't attempt to run even 1 mile on flat terrain lol.
@EleanorRigby - I figure it's not til the end of June, and even if I have to walk it, I am getting that fuzzy hat! :) It just looks super fun to me! I'm such a nerd...
We have the mud run in Pendelton and its awesome!love your gear
@15happyyears, thank you! I figure I'll wear fuchsia and black striped knee high socks too, haha. With that hat!? It will be amazing! :)
I saw this and thought it would be fun but we arent going to do it this year. maybe next time!
@PitBulLover - I'll let you know how it is - if it's HALF as fun as it looks (to me) then I will be doing it next year too!
I would probably sign up just for the hat.
I think the closest event to me is 8+ hours away though.
@missmouse29, there's one in Ontario!

Horseshoe Resort 1101 Horseshoe Valley RdBarrie, ON L4M 4Y8
Of course, Ontario's much bigger than little ol' NH, so that might be the one you're talking about... d'oh!
My friend is trying to get me to sign up for this but all the options are about an hour away. If it was closer I might think about it more seriously!
@Taylor4, totally do it! The one near me is about 45 minutes away, but something about it just screams "wicked fun!" haha!
I did one last year here in Dallas - it was certainly fun but not quite as exciting as I expected. Hope you enjoy it - the fuzzy warrior hat is awesome!
@futureKMM - what made it less exciting? Was it not as challenging as you thought? More so? Too many people? Trying to get a feel for what I should expect!
@7SEVENJ9: Probably mainly that it just wasn't as challenging as I expected. We all still had a good time - it just wasn't quite what I had expected.
That looks awesome! Unfortionately the only one in PA is on the other side of the state.
I'm not, but my boyfriend and many of our friends and his co-workers are. There aren't any spots left in any of the time slots around when everyone I know signed up, so I'll be there to support, but not to run. I'm using them as my test subjects to see if I want to do it next year!
We were about to sign up when we realized...the Boston area one is on FI's cousin's wedding day! So we'll be going to a fun family wedding instead. But we might do next year! We have 3 friends signed up for this year's so far :-)
Have fun!!!
I'm so excited - my husband even signed up! :) So now we're up to 5 or 6 people I know doing it - can't wait!
I did Warrior Dash the day before my wedding last year! LOL. We're gonna do it again this year!
@lopeze4183, that's awesome! how did you like it? what did you do to train for it?
this looks SO fun! I just signed up for the run in NC... it's not til August so I've got loads of time!
This looks awesome! My brother and his GF are doing the one in Arizona in April. It looks like the one closest to me is this July. Maybe next year?!
I wish we had something like this in Australia I would def give it a go!
I just wanted to say thank you, this thread prompted me to spontaneously sign up for a 5k this weekend, too! I used to love 5ks but since moving to a new state for my graduate degree haven't run a single one. Time to jump back in the game!
@simpleandchic - there WAS one in Australia, but it looks like it was in February: http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_australia.php Maybe next year!
@bookworm88 - NICE! I'm glad to hear it! I'm doing a 4 miler next weekend and then a St. Patrick's Day 2 mile (flat) "fun run" - first one is part of the "will run for beer" series I'm doing this year (races sponsored by breweries) and the second also gives 2 free beers at the end, haha! This Warrior Dashjust looked so fun I couldn't help myself. Day 1 of training was yesterday, ran 3.5 miles!
haha that one is like 20+ hours away [driving] haha. I am closer to Manitoba than central Ontario (and yes Ontario is le HUGE)
I'm running the Warrior Dash in June in Illinois! It looks like so much crazy fun!
My FI and I just signed up for the Warrior Dash in Wisconsin last night. I am so excited!!!
For those of you who don't think you'd be able to do it running, many, many people walk the course and it looks like they have just as much fun as those who run!
My FI and I just signed up for the one in Atlanta. We're running on Saturday morning!!!
A ton of my friends just did ours in Ohio and they had a blast. They definitely got a few bumps, bruises and scrapes, but they had a good time overall. This might not be the most ideal of situations, but you may want to get some very thin knee pads or at least something to cover your knees. They had to crawl through 100 yards of gravel in a pitch black tunnel and ended up with bloody knees (and they plowed their faces into people's butts, watch out for that too haha).
@MissLilac: Are you ready for the Dash this weekend. DH and I are doing...pretty pumepd!
Anyone have any new tips on how to dress or for the day in general? It only going to be 60 here and the 3rd obstacle is climbing a waterfall, it will be so cold.
Ohhh I did this last year. Its fun and not hard at all really. As long as you can run 3 miles you are good to go!
Bring a change of clothes in the car after, while you are running it wont matter and you will get sooooo gross and dirty.
Also clean and dry shoes. You can donate your dirty ones for a beer (at least at the one we did)
