Does anyone constantly accidently bash their engagement ring into things?!
I try to take the most care with my left hand, but I seem to always be hitting it on drawers, or doors, etc.
SO FRUSTRATING. Everytime it happens, my heart literally drops and I examine it for any damage.
My engagement ring is a white topaz & diamond on white gold. I hope white topaz can survive my clumsiness! Bah!

Ha I feel the same way! I’ll be getting something out of my pocket and forget and feel it catch and I’m just like “OH NO!!” Gotta check on Sparkle! hahah.

I try and be very careful but my precious is only 6 weeks old or so, that may be why.

ps – post your erings too! 🙂 It’s another excuse to show them off and I know I can speak for a lot of brides here that we don’t mind it! 🙂 🙂

I thought I was being really hard on it at first as I would hit it into things and stuff just because I wasn’t used to it being there. I’d always quickly check it and it was always fine.
Eventually, I quit noticing and freaking out when I would accidently knock it into things as I realized it wasn’t going to hurt it.

I still worry about mine. It’s like training my brain to be more careful. But I knock it on stuff all the time! The one thing I try NEVER EVER to do, and actually cringe when other’s do, is knock the bottoms of my rings on the table. It scratches my gold and I have diamonds going all the way around and don’t want to lose any!

@icedchaitea:It’s so beautiful!!
I would be very worried about this, mainly because while I’m not clumpsy I work a lot with my hands so am definitely not going to wear it all the time, just like a special piece when going out to show it off but not even for grocery shopping.
Just realized I’m talking about it as if I’ve got it. I’m still in the “waiting” process, but I know he bought the ring. lol

I TRY to be careful with it.. but I’m constantly washing my hands.. and I know they say you should take your ring off when you use any chemicals and such but everytime I take off my ring and put it back on my skin get irriated a little well only if I do it too often. I got to admit though there are times where I would zone out and jsut stare at my ring… haha I swear its starting to look less sparkly or something.. How often does everyone clean their rings? and what do you use??

I am HARD on my hands. A manicure never lasts for more than a few days, and my ring takes a beating too. It’s a semi bezel setting, but it’s at the jeweler’s right now being modified into a full bezel because the stone kept coming loose and jangling around.

Oh okay! ha. Here is sparkle. She doesn’t look too terrible. Pic was taken about a month ago though, so hmmm… haha.

Mine is a solitaire so I’m scared it’ll be hit the wrong way and fall off its setting. I have it insured through our homeowners insurance and through the jewelry store where it is from though!!

Mine sits up fairly high with a thick band so I’m forever hitting tables, keyboards, and pretty much everything else. The only part that shows wear is the underside of the band where the plating has worn off from hititng my keyboard.
I had a seminar last semester that had us all at a large board table. Evertime I took my hands off the table or tried to move my chair there would be a loud “thunk”. It was generally ignored, thankfully.
thick band + high setting = easily hit

lol, I’m always messing with mine. I actually dropped mine in the hardware store yesterday because I was twisting it around and it slipped :/

My poor ring gets smacked into everything…I slammed it into the crystal dish I keep it in at night the other day and almost had a heart attack!! I’m not used to wearing such a high setting…and I agree withKnubbsy-Wubbsy: the bottom of my ring takes a massive beating because I use my hands so much!! Heres my love!

I do. Mine is all scratched and bent.. it was two sizes too big though so I’m hoping when we get it back from being sized its all pretty again and easier to not bash into things.
