@vivalavida:  Most people are actually a mix of both, but with predominant characteristics towards one or the other. I am outgoing and not at all shy, but I am still mainly intorverted. People in general drain me, and I am perfectly happy with my own company most of the time.

Definitely introvert. On the Myers-Briggs, I score INFP, with introvert at 89%. Now I don’t think I’m that introverted, I always get my daily dose of people interaction! Being around people for too long stresses me out and it drains me.

@bex292:  Haha, myers-briggs stuff. I am an ESTJ, but only 4% E…so while my natural tendency is extrovert, I am not extremely outgoing/social.

@vivalavida:  Definitely an extrovert. I find that most people on here are introverts (based on another similar post and a post on Myers Briggs personality types. It doesn’t surprise me because Internet forums and introversion seem to go hand in hand.

@jayjaybee:  I’m an ESTJ too, but I’m closer to 70% for E, S, and T. My J is closer to 5% though. Nice to “meet” a fellow ESTJ!

Introvert here – although I do love people and company, I need my alone time. I am a INFJ to be exact, supposedly the rarest of personality types, although I do waiver between Sensing and Intuition

@bex292:  I’m an INFP too, although only slightly tending towards introvert than extrovert. I actually though I was more of an extrovert, haha.

I am very much like you – I enjoy doses of social interaction, but I find too much emotionally/physically draining and then need my alone time to recharge. I always thought it came from being an only child, where I could seek out interaction (usually with adults) when I wanted but could escape to the solace of my own world whenever I needed to.

Total introvert. I’m much happier at home on the computer watching tv, etc than going out! I much prefer my me time and have just a few close friends.

I’m an INFJ, the introvert bit being 100%. I always thought it came from being an only child too, but I think it’s just my personality. I need very little social time in relation to alone/quiet time, and have to recharge lots at home after socialising. People and chatter drain me after short bursts of it.

I’m an introvert in that I prefer not being with people, generally. But once I’m around them I’m extroverted.

Ambivert! I love seeing just 1 or 2 people at a time.

For everyone who is mostly introvert, do you have any tactics for how you keep socialising at a low level without offending people? I sometimes feel like people think it’s something to do with them when I decline invitations, when it’s actually to do with me, if that makes sense 🙂
