I'm not changing till the very end but I will change into a 'send off' outfit. I want to spend the whole night in my pretty gown but I can't take it with me on the honeymoon due to it's size and were leaving the reception and going straight to the honeymoon.
Here it is!
@Kamazing: thanks! much much smaller than my wedding dress... I figured I could wear it for one of the dressy dinners on the cruise as well!
Heres my wedding dress, definitely too big to take along! lol
I am not..I figure I am spending so much money on it to begin with I might as well get my moneys worth!
@HappilyEverAfter54: Veryc cute dress! I love the jacket to go with it!
@linz09: Thanks! I love it too it matches my wedding shoes perfectly- thank goodness!
I've been thinking about getting an "after party" dress. I'll keep my dress on the whole time at the reception and then maybe change into a cute short white dress to meet everyone at a bar after the reception. We're getting married in Savannah and bar hopping after the reception is pretty common.
I'm changing! We like to dance so i want to change into a shorter dress so i can really get down. Plus I get to have 2 beautiful dresses instead of 1
Our wedding will be in a rather small, intimate courtyard of a restaurant. And the reception will be in the same location. So no, I'm not planning to change for the reception.
BUT we may have an after party of sorts when it's all over... possibly hitting some of the clubs on Bourbon St. (Karaoke anyone? LOL!) So I am searching for something white that's more street appropriate.
Maybe something similar to these:

I didn't change because I wanted to feel like a bride all night long in my original gown! I totally get why some brides do change, but I'm glad I didn't!
I have 2 reception dresses. A chinese gown and a short little white one.
I changed! I was originally going to wear my cermeony dress for part of my reception but we had an outdoor reception and it was so dang hot! The second we got back home I changed. Both of my dresses were beautiful and I don't regreat having two at all!
@HappilyEverAfter54: your outfit is freakin cute!!!
This is my lace dress for our vintage reception:

Instead of the belt, I'll be wearing a gold sash to match my shoes and hairpiece

@Stellar Magnitude: I really like that first one!
I won't be changing, I'm on a tight budget... it's so hard to pick just one pretty dress though! lol
I absolutely LOVE my wedding dress, but it's huge and heavy and I'm tiny, and I'm afraid when I bustle it that I'll fall over backwards haha! The train is too long to even think about not bustling it, unless I stand still all night long ;) So I'll probably be getting a reception gown so I can dance!
Yep! My reception is outside in our yard so I'm wearing my dress to mingle a little so people can see it and the paparazzi my aunts can get some pictures. But it's long in the back so it will touch the ground and get dirty. I'm changing into something else that's short and sexier, which FI will like :)
Reception dress:

I'm planning to have a second line through the French Quarter, so definitely plan on getting a shorter dress. The idea of wearing my mermaid Monique Lhuillier through Bourbon Street makes me want to cry. It would get filthy.
@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: Thank you! =) I love your dress and all the wonderful pretty things your wearing with your dress! They match perfectly.
I am only because i am wearing a ballgown and my dance floor is not the largest -basically i can change dresses or kick four people off the dance floor so i can dance lol
I am not changing, wearing my wedding gown the entire night. I want to get bang for my buck! :)
After reading this though, maybe I should have something cute on hand to change into at the hotel. Our reception doesn't end until 1:30am, but FI is pretty confident we are going to party it up at the hotel afterwards. I might want to think about having a cute dress to put on that is a bit more "drinking beers in the hotel suite" friendly. :)
I am changin. Actually my second gown is a wedding gown but it is easier to dance in.
My wedding gown:

My party gown:

I absolutely love my wedding dress and won't change no matter what! If i'm dropping money on something like that, that I can only wear for ONE day, you can bet I'll wear it all day.
I might throw on a statement necklace or something to jazz it up later in the evening, but I'm keeping it on at the after party.
