Oh my gosh, all the time. It is a running joke in my family (three girls, totally do way too much period talk) that my period will wait to ruin an event or vacation. It was three weeks late when I got it an hour before our engagement party started. Literally 2 minutes after I put on my white dress. Such a mean period.

It happens!  My Doc actually checks a thyroid if a period is ever late- something to consider, I guess if your levels are off, it can mess you up.  She also said, “sometimes it just does!”  (come late)

Mine does! I was like two weeks late last month! I knew I wasn’t pregnant but took a test just to be sure. I hate it though. I would love to just get it everyday on the same day each month so I can always be prepared for it! It usually comes around the same time though, say I get it on the 10th this month, then next month it will come around the 9th-11th or so. But then somtimes its an ass & comes a week-two weeks late!

I’ve only been significantly late (10 whole days) once, and it was two months ago. I anticipated my body going wacky that month though because I was under a HUGE amount of stress. It’s crazy what stress can do to a body!

Have you thought about using other forms of birth control besides Plan B? I know you said you can’t take BC pills but even just using condoms keeps the “OMG I’m pregnant!” thoughts from flooding my brain everytime I’m getting close to my period start date (am I the only one who does that?).

I don’t know if this interests you, but if this happens to you on a regular basis it might benefit you to pay a little bit more attention to your cycles. I just read the book “Taking Charge of you Fertility” and it talks a lot about how there are two stages of your cycle: the phase before you ovulate and the phase after (luteal phase). The luteal phase is always the same length, but somethings ovulating can be delayed due to stress. If you chart and pay attention to when you ovulate (cervical fluid, temps, etc) then you will know when you ovulate late! Then you won’t have a panic attack every few months thinking you’re pregnant πŸ™‚
I love it, and I love knowing more about my body! It’s also great for birth control, even if it isn’t your sole method, you can double up when you’re really fertile just to be sure.

@lioness_89:  Yeah the charts online just go off of an average, you don’t necessarily ovulate on those days! But it’s definitely better than nothing!

I was due a week ago too.  I have been late before.  I find it’s due to stress.  And that’s almost definitely the case this time round πŸ™

@lioness_89:  Glad yours came πŸ™‚

Even though I’m on the pill, if I’m really stressed I can definitely be late.
