I'm trying to decide if I want to do it or not...  Sometimes I think it would be nice to wear JUST my engagment ring sometimes.

FMIL didnt solder her rings together and now they're really worn from rubbing against each other.

I did put mine together.  I love having the extra bling!  I have heard about them wearing down if you don't have them attached to eachother.

I've never really considered that but I don't think I would because I want the option to wear just my wedding band sometimes! I guess I'll just have to deal with the wear from rubbing together?  Hmm...

I guess once they're soldered together, I'll just get used to it. It does look nice together. But I've heard you have to make sure the rings match/go against each other good so they solder together well.

my rings actually kind of 'click' together (purchased as a set) so i think the 'ring' (when they're combined) will fit better then.

I had mine soldered together because my band only has diamonds on one side and it kept twisting around to the back side.  When I took it in to be attached, the jeweler had it for over a week!

My ring doesn't have a matching band... we were actually at the mall tonight and found one that was nice but not 100% on it. On Feb 6th, we're meeting with a jewellry designer about getting a band made.

I'm having 3 rings total, so I MAY put one wedding band & the e-ring together, but keep the other seperate so incase I ever wanted to just wear that or just wear the others, I could. Haven't decided yet :) But I'm pretty sure I def. don't want to put them ALL together.

Ohh that's a good idea @Lee!! I never thought of having 2 "bands" until last night while shopping around. It looked really nice!

No, but mine don't move very much or spin around my hands. I have 2 bands and even tho the jeweler told me they may wear, they fit like they're soldered together and rarely give me trouble.

I don't think I am going to. I like having the option to wear both, or just my band.

I think I am. I have a cathedral set ring, and the band is also going to be cathedral.  If the two were to spin independently of each other, well, I'll go mad crazy!

I will. I know they can really wear on each other and cause damage if they're not soldered. Plus my wedding band is custom made to fit with my ring and it will look totally bizarre by itself if I ever wanted to wear it alone.

Mine are.  Due to the paves, they would wear too fast if they weren't.

I thought I was going to but the two rings don't slide around as much now that there are two.  My e ring used to drive me nuts.

Plus, I have a ring wrap so just in case I wanted to upgrade or switch it out. It would be easier.

I have three rings as well and the jeweler suggested I solder them together because of the wearing but I kinda like the idea of wearing three separate rings. I may do it when I actually start wearing them after the wedding since the diamonds only go halfway and it may annoy me if they are always moving..

No, I'm really excited about the opportunity to wear the band alone when I am doing more active things.

There is always the option to get the rings retouched in the future.

I think I'm going to leave them separate, I like the option to wear one or the other.

i'll be leaving them seperate so i can wear just the band. as a hairstylist, i tend to get rings caught a lot and i would hate to yank out someones hair with my ring. :p

Not just yet.  I can't wear my e-ring to work (sometimes) so I like to wear just my wedding band.  Maybe if he buys a separate band that I can wear at work, then I'll get them melded so that they don't rub or wear!

I want to get my put together, I think! My reasoning is I don't want them to slip around on my finger so you can't see the diamond(s) and I don't want them to wear

I don't know, but I haven't really thought about it.  I would like to just because the band on my e-ring is extreamly thin.  But on the other hand, my e-ring was my FI's grandmother's and I like the idea of passing it down eventually to my child.  At least I have a few more months left to figure it all out. We shall see.

I  cannot say for sure because we do not get married until September.  But I think that soldering your ring depends on your life style.  I travel internationally often for work.  And some of the countries that I go to, I would not feel comfortable wearing my ering.

I will keep them separate so that no matter where I am I will be happily wedded woman :)

I'll have 3 rings in total (2 bands) and getting them soldered is a must for me. I need them to last forever :)

Nope! My e-ring is a ginormous pear sapphire and, as much as I love it, I wouldn't want to *have* to wear it everywhere.  There are too many situations where it might look ostentatious, too blingy, or simply just won't go with the colors of an outfit!
