My FMIL seems to be obsessed with slideshows. It’s the only thing she brings up about the wedding. She keeps saying we HAVE to have one, and we could use a laptop and blah blah blah. Unfortunately I just don’t want one. It doesn’t go with the mood I want to create (think rustic restaurant reception by candlelight). Instead we might have a table of framed photographs of us as kids and together.
What about you? Are you having a slideshow? Please tell me your ideas!

We are having a slideshow but it isn’t a – stop the wedding – type. We’re going to have a large flatscreen by the DJ booth with about 150 different photos that will just stay on a loop through the night.
We thought about a small digital frame next to the escort card table as well but we wanted something bigger than that.

I had one. We tried to include lots of funny/awesome pics & really incorporated pics of all our family & friends so it was not boring for our guests. Our guests actually loved it.
If you really want something that goes with your rustic feel, maybe those digital photo frames? It’s like a mini slide show on a table that won’t be intrusive but people who want to see it can simply walk up to it at their own leisure to look at it?

Thanks pren and Dancy, we’re definitely considering a digital frame!

I’m having one. It won’t be shown on a huge screen. I’m going to have a monitor placed on the guest book table. Something simple…
If you don’t want one, don’t have one…

We’re having one because I love them, haha. But to each their own… if you don’t want one, then go for the framed photos (I like that idea too)!

We are having one.. because I love them too!
I am a picture whore… I take hundreds of pictures at EVERY event I go to!
So we have lots and lots of pictures of us together and of everyone that is going to be at the wedding. (Small wedding of 60ppl)
But as the PP’s are doing we are doing a constant loop in the background.
If it doesn’t fit with your theme maybe you could say she could make one for the rehearsal dinner?

I am making picture mobiles for the cocktail hour. We’ll also be loading some digital frames. I don’t want it to be a big production, but I do love seeing baby pictures and whatnot.

@Future Mrs. Martin – Actually, the rehearsal dinner slideshow is a great idea! I’ll mention that to her. We’re planning on having a BBQ at our house, so it would work out a lot better 🙂 Thanks!
