So funny! We are actually having my cousin sing this song at our ceremony!
We are having 2 other singers during the ceremony as well. FI is from a very musical family, so you know how that goes :)
One of my BM is ridiculously gifted, she's singing me down the aisle to Ingrid Michaelson's "The Way I Am". Soooooooo excited about this!!!
My grandma used to sing in a group when she was younger, as well as sang to me when i was little. She's singing "It's your Love" during out sand ceremony and my cousins boyfriend is playing the guitar. They sound amazing together!!!
A friend of mine is an accomplished musician and he agreed to sing for the ceremony. He is singing Stevie Wonder's "ribbon in the sky" for the entrance of the bridal party. Insert tears here. :)
We have an AMAZING soloist from the church who will be singing three songs during the ceremony:
How Great Thou Art (in between the two scripture readings)
The Gift of Love - Hopson (for the lighting of the Unity Candle)
The Lord's Prayer - Malotte (after exchanging the rings)
He'll also probably sing a couple of songs during the prelude.
I would love to have someone sing for us, but the truth is, my standards are too high. Though I am terribly out of practice, I was a music major for a time and took voice lessons for years, and, I'll admit it, I am secretly kind of snotty about it. I NEVER show people up in person, and I am always really nice about it, but if I don't like their voices better then my own, I would not ask them to sing at my wedding. (And for the record, I was a wedding singer in high school!) There are 3 people I can think of whom I would trust to sing at my wedding, but I have fallen out of contact with them, and honestly, while I know a lot of people with pretty voices, I don't know anyone who is that good anymore.
If it wouldn't be totally awkward, though, in my little fantasy land, I have Miss M, my third grade teacher, sing an Irish Blessing (May the Lord always bless you and keep you; may his face always shine upon you....) She plays piano and guitar, and she is the reason I got into music. I love her voice so much, and I always wanted to be like her. But I haven't seen her in five years, so that's not going to happen. I presently have no idea what, if anything, we'll do for music.
My BIL's g/f sang at our wedding... She has an amazing voice.. She sang "When I say do" by Matthew West
Yes! My friend Kim is a fabulous singer and she sang "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service at our ceremony. We didn't know in advance what song she was going to sing, and I LOVE that song and would never have thought to use it in a wedding. It was perfect.
My good friend is singing Feels Like Home also. I am a Canadian girl & have loved Chantal Kreviazuk for soooo long!
I am having my maid of honor, who is a professional jazz singer, sing "You are my Sunshine."
She's gonna do a jazz version of it (you can look some up on youtube).
I am also having my cousin sing (he's in a band, the Februarys, check 'em out) Forever by Ben Folds.
yes my lil brother and a close friend of mine will be singing
When God Made You by NewSong and Natalie Grant. :)
My 12 year old nephew played guitar and sang Melt with You by Modern English. Bawled my eyes out.
We're having one of my best friends sing "Here We Stand" by Anthony Carter during our unity candle...it's the prettiest song!
My friend is singing & her husband is playing the guitar, while the pianist plays, Praise to the Lord; our eight attendants are walking in as couples. When the song gets to "Hallelujah," that's when I will come down the aisle with my daddy.
A dear friend of ours is singing Ave Maria while accompanying herself on the guitar. We're not even religious, but the song is so beautiful and her voice so lovely that we decided we wanted it. It's a good nod to all the excellent mothers who will attend our wedding anyway.
@chillmer - that song title is engraved on my fiance's wedding band. it's the first song that i ever sent to him to listen to (i was in love with the postal service when we met). when i showed him the engraving he said "that song reminds me of you". it was very sweet and the song is so awesome.
i really want my aunt to play guitar and sing for us, but it's getting really late and we don't have our ceremony organizational meeting until a month before our wedding. maybe i'll ask her anyway.
My fiance sang Here Comes the Sun when his sister got married and was walking down the aisle.
I LOVE that Feels Like Home song!!
I was thinking of having my cousin sing "The Prayer" during our ceremony, and maybe "Ave Maria" but it is a beach wedding, so I don't know if that will go...
A friend of my parents daughter sang The Lords Prayer and On Eagle's Wings and she has an unbelievable voice...when I get the video I am going to try to upload it, hope she won't mind, she was amazing!
One of my best friends and bridesmaids will be leading "LOVE" by Nat King Cole during the ceremony, we wanted something upbeat that everyone could sing a long to and sway to! :)
My cousin with an AMAZING voice will be singing Ave Maria for the marian offering (Catholic Mass) :) so excited!
Yes, I would like my cousin to sing Happy Everafter in Your Eyes by Ben Folds during the ceremony for the unity candle. But, we don't have instrumental music for the background!
Any suggestions on what to do? Is there a place I could find the background music for this song? Should we hire someone? The DJ will be at the ceremony with the ability to play music. We have one month until the wedding!
Both my MOH and my brother have AMAZING voices. They have both expressed interest in singing a duet together during the ceremony. I am totally excited about it, but I have no idea WHAT they should sing!
My husband is an Opera singer and he is in an accapella group that is incredible (like award winning incredible) and lots of our friends are very musically tallented. My best friend went to school for violin (like a conservatory) but we decided to narrow it down and have a close friend who was un able to be in the bridal party do it. She sang "Come what May" from Moulin Rouge, since it was our song in HS. Our best man accompanied her on the keyboard and my husband arranged it as a duet with the cellist we hired. It was amazing.
I dodn't have any video that is sharable of that but here is my husband.

he is the soloist.
The guys sang this (my husband sang to me) and a couple other songs at out reception and it was a HUGE hit. The reception was in an all marble room and the sound was incredible.
My wonderful Aunt is singing Por Ti Volare while the wedding party, including myself walks down the aisle.
we had our cantor sing sunrise sunset. yes, it's very cliche for us jews, but my parents had that song at their wedding, and my brother had it at his, so it's kind of tradition now.
My best friend's singing my processional. I'm still undecided, but am sort of leaning towards "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
i plan to have two songs in my ceremony one solo by a friend of mine and then one sang by an acapelle mens group at my church...
My best friend and maid of honor is singing Little House by Amanda Seyfried during the wedding! I am so excited for the personal touch!
It is a beautiful song, but she is going to change a few of the words so that the whole song is positive and uplifting. But that is sweet to me, she is making it personal for us!
Yes! One of my bridesmaids who has been one of my best friends since we were 5 is going to sing during the lighting of our unity candle! Cant decide which song though... I am leaing towards "I could not ask for more" by sara evans or "when i say i do" by matthew west i have always LOVED "From this moment on" by Shania Twain but am a bit scared some people might think it is too cheesy.

my MOH (who i know i complain about but DO love! lol) has a gorgeous voice and I asked her to sing during our ceremony - before our vows. she will be singing "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk - here are the lyrics:
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/chantalkreviazuk/feelslikehome.html
which I think just totally embodies how I feel about my husband:
"If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done"
I love this song.
what are you having sung? who's singing it?
