I’m not doing favors.  I don’t really feel like they are worth the effort or expense.  The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of time and money of them and have hardly anyone take them home.

Originally, I planned on doing some sort of favor but couldn’t decide on something that I thought people would actually want to take home with them. Instead, we’re using the money we would have spent on favors to book a band for the reception.

We’re doing edible favours that are doubling as dessert for people who don’t like fruit cake. So yes, we’re doing favours. But no, I don’t think that they’re necessary.

I’m not sure where you are located, but being from the south and currently living in the NE, I think people really expect a little something when they attend a wedding.  It doesn’t have to be much and it doesn’t have to cost much.  In fact, I love the home-made items like a big cookie or a little jar of jam, and I think they are more personal than giving a store-bought candle or something (no offense to any bees).  I’ve also gotten some great “mix CDs” from a couple of weddings that I still play in my car.  Good luck!

Man, am I the only, “Yes, mainly because everyone else expects them”??  Yeah, I don’t really care for favors, and I wish I didn’t have to spend money on them, but I know our guests will feel slighted if not, because they all expect them (hello, isn’t cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, free booze all night, a five course gourmet dinner, and an epic cake a favor enough?  You want a tacky trinket or a cookie to go with that you say??).  Sigh.

I voted other. My centerpieces are glass vases with peaches (the fruit) in them. I will have paper lunch sacks and a sign on the table asking people to take a peach or two home iwth them. So yeah, I guess you could call those favors, but if we were doing a different type of centerpiece, I am not sure that favors would have worked in the budget.

My motto is “the only good favor is one that your guests can eat”

We are doing favors and I’m super excited! As of right now, we are possibly doing a candy/dessert bar with some of our fav sweets in our wedding colors with a favor box at each place setting for our guests to fill up on the way out. I couldnt think of anything I wanted to do trinket wise so we figured that everyone loves to eat, especially sweets (for the most part)!

at first i would have rather cut it out because of cost..

but we found these cheesy little boxes at the dollar tree i think we are jsut going to fill them with candy now im second guessing if it will look too cheap. is it worth it? or maybe i can use them as a name tag?

We are doing a sweets table and that is the favor that is going to double as decor.  I LOVE the way it looks!

We are doing little boxes of Silver & Purple Dragees (Jordan Almonds).  It is a typical French wedding favor.
