So we’re designing our invitations ourselves and having them printed through catprint.com. They have a great cardstock that I love. It’s 107lb, shimmery cream. Unfortunately catprint does not have matching envelopes in the size we need. So now my delima is do I try to buy envelopes elsewhere and try to match the color, (maybe hard), or do I go for a totally different color envelope, (navy, one of our wedding colors).
What do you think ladies? Are your envelope and invitation cards the same color?

My envelope is silver and my invites purple.
I think going with navy is a great choice.

Mine aren’t the same color. The invitation is light gray and my envelope is dark gray. I liked the contrast.
I think navy will be beautiful.

I did pocketfolds with an outer envelope. The outer envelope is the same color as the invite paper…sand.

Uhh… no… but kind of. I used a grey pocketfold with green matting and belly band, and a cream part that’s written on and cards. The envelopes matched the green backing..
Yeah… here’s a link to photos because that sounds more confusing than it needs to be.

Personally, my envelopes and invites are different colors. My pocketfold is a red linen, my envelope is a Stardream Gold, and my invities are printed from Catprint on the white shimmer cardstock.
If you really want to match them though maybe get a sample of the Cards and Pockets Stardream Opal paper. (I’m looking at my Catprint booklet and while its not *exact* is really, really close.) It’s more of a brighter shade of the same color.

I got my invites printed on the same cream shimmer paper from cat print. It was amazing. I ended up putting those into a tiffany blue pocketfold and had matching envelopes. But I think if you have cream paper, you can do any envelope color you want 🙂
