We got married Saturday night, and left Sunday night (redeye).

We wanted the excitement of leaving the next day, but also needed time to go back home and get our things, say goodbye to OOT guests, etc.

I liked the excitement of leaving (almost) right away! It also made sense for us to not wait, or else DH would have had to use more vacation time.

@Tarheelgurl:  We’re most likely leaving the day after or 2 days after since we’re going to be hopping from Maui to Oahu and then Kauai

@Tarheelgurl:  left 2 days after. It was perfect. Enough time to say goodbye and not be rushed when you are exhausted the next day. But it was also great to get out of there fast because frankly, we were family and friends tired out and just wanted us time!

@Tarheelgurl:  We are but I would much rather leave Monday over Sunday. We are going on a cruise and the one we wanted leaves the day after so that is why. We are okay with it because it will be exciting but we are having the wedding where my Fi family lives so we will have to assign someone to take all of our stuff home instead of taking it back to FI parents house ourselves and then hope they get everything. We will see them the next morning at breakfast though so we can double check! I am so excited for the honeymoon haha

Our cruise departed 8 days after our wedding. It was nice to have that week to get all the wedding stuff organized and out away, and the TY notes done, and the last of the honeymoon stuff purchased before leaving! I took 90% of that week off. DH worked it.

We had our honeymoon 6 months later. It really helped with the post-wedding blues to have the honeymoon to look forward too.

We left really late the next day.  It was kind of nice, but also kind of rushed.  We had a brunch in the morning, rushed home to unload everything, packed up as quick as we could, ended up opening most gifts out of curiosity, and ordered our kitchenaid mixer because we had a 20% discount that went to 10% after that day.  So it was a little rushed, a little crazy, but it was nice to arrive at the resort as early as possible to start relaxing!  But I was a little more stressed than I needed to be, I bet.

We’re going on a mini-moon right after the wedding. We’re spending 3 nights in the hotel where we’re getting married and will be tourists in our own hometown for a few days. The hotel is super nice, a 100 year old railroad hotel and has a wonderful spa on the top floor, so we’ll be going there the monday after our wedding.

We wanted to go somewhere hot for our honeymoon and it didn’t make sense to go at the begining of November when it’s not even all that cold out, so we’re going on a second honeymoon in January or February. We didn’t want to just get married and go back to our regular, every day lives right after, so the mini-moon seemed like a good option.

I wouldn’t want to be bothered running errands like going to the bank, gifts etc right after my wedding.  It would take away from the bliss for me.  I want a Sunday wedding so we can have all weekend to spend time with family beforehand then my sister or someone can take care of getting gifts to our house.  Honestly after the whole wedding I think I will also want some alone time and not have to still be doing family stuff
