I post less personal pictures mostly because I’m on WB at work and don’t have my pictures on my work computer. It was nice when I could upload a photo at home and then it was saved for me to post on as many threads as related to my dress. 😉

I have completely stopped posting photos now, even though in some threads I would really like to.

howtobeawife:  I don’t really post personal photos; just ones of my ring, or generic ones of things (eg ones of our honeymoon hotels/venue that I’ve found from google images). So my posting habits won’t change.

But if I did post more personal photos then yeah I probably would change and think about it more first.

I just try to do nothing to personal. I hate that everything on here is like the first things to pop up on google images.

I now have a massive sense of unease about sharing any personal photos on the Bee. I don’t like that we can’t delete them once posted. I have shared some photos of my wedding dress and my engagement ring, but I recently found photos that I shared here on another website and after that I’m simply not comfortable sharing very many photos anymore. It would be one thing if the photos shared stayed here (as they were intended to), but I don’t like finding them posted elsewhere for not so nice reasons.

I was definitely looking forward to posting pictures from my engagement shoot/wedding (and I still might), but I’m more wary of how it will then be taken elsewhere than with the fact that they can’t be deleted. If I post anything I will definitely cover my face!

howtobeawife:  Well, I won’t share the name because that’s against the TOS. It really isn’t THAT big of a deal, but it made me realize that I was being really naive about posting personal information on a public forum. I definitely learned my lesson.

I’d never post an identifying photo. I am constantly amazed at people who share these right alongside  some very personal  issues.   I’m sure we are not that  far off from the day when we’ll be able to do a reverse face recognition search for free.   And of course, you never know who could recognize you.

I no longer will be posting photos here on the bee, then again i don’t come here as often anymore since the new changes took effect.

I have not posted any pictures since they took away the option to delete pictures. I stopped posting pictures of my face prior to that but I would still post pictures of my ring or card box (for example). I now don’t post anything though because I don’t like the idea of not being able to delete it if I want to.

It always surprises me that people don’t realize that whatever you post to the net is available for someone else to see and use for whatever purposes they decide.  Even if you deleted your pic from WeddingBee chances are that one of the search engines already has it for posterity.

I don’t feel like anything valuable has been lost. I enjoy contributing to this site while maintaining my anonymity.

If you’re posting personal pictures.. You should have enough sense to realize that they can be used by anyone for anything they want. Which is why people are cautioned to not post pictures of their children on unsecured Facebook accounts.

Its very surprising that in this day and age people don’t realize how the internet works.
