I had someone make them for both my daughters. One is this Sunday and she'll probably kill me when she sees I had her engagement picture cartooned for her shower invites! lol
This is the blurred version!
Here they are waiting for the ribbons to dry.
haha i love this post!
I'm a designer so needless to say I did my own invitations, save the dates, menus, programs, etc etc etc. My mom asked me to do the invites for one of my showers and I said yes, but the 2nd shower I said no. I'm DONE desiging things for this wedding. - There are a million other things I need to do right now.
I'm doing them for the one shower as my contribution and to help my aunt. But I am really excited to just receive the invitation for the other shower.
So yes, and no.
@smyley: I think that is adorable! I would love it.
I am not making or buying my own shower invites. I did go to one of the wedding invite websites because I really like the look of printed ones rather than handwritten ones...and my mom/MOH doesn't really understand a lot about bridal showers, so I was trying to help her along so I sent her several links to give her ideas for what they could do. My mom then asked me if I could just buy them and she would pay me back.
I told her no, I didn't really want to buy my own shower invites. I don't want to have the feeling that I am the one planning it. But I do try to offer ideas and suggestions...mostly because they aren't surrounded in 100% wedding like I am.
No, my hostesses are taking care of the invites. I wanted to share this website with you though: www.downloadandprint.com.
There are 14 gorgeous invitation templates on there now and they're FREE to download and print. Love them!
The lady that is making the templates also takes requests.
Hehe. I saw some inexpensive invitations on clearance and almost bought them for my shower hosts. I refrained.
I voted that someone else is, but I'm kind of holding her hand through the process =) My sister is on it, but doesn't know much about showers so I have to help her out.
whoa. this is totally new to me. i never knew a bride who actually did stuff for her shower! lol my only job is to show up! for all three of my showers!
Here are the shower invites i designed for my shower. I want to use that patterend paper for envelope liners. Hope it uploads!
smyley: those are adorable!!
Miss Britt : i'm def not planning it. just doing the invites and created my wishlist (it's a lingerie themed shower). my moh is kinda clueless in this dept and i wanted cute invites rather than hand printed ones.
gibsonkk: that is really cool. i'm only having one shower. i can't stand the idea of a second one. lol. one is enough but kudos to you girls who can stand to have two and even three.
hmaxwell77: thanx for the templates
iswimibikeirun: ha ha!
farmersdaughter : i get it.
Aug8Bride: yep. a lot of brides have their hands somewhere in every aspect of their wedding celebratiions. not everyone has the luxury of just showing up. i wish i did but my girls need some help and i'm more than glad to assist them.
ariellebride very cute!!
msmonicka-- i'm sorry you don't have the "luxury" of just showing up. it just so happens that my bridesmaids are fully capable of throwing me a fabulous shower on their own.
My maid of honor made mine, and she (along with the help of my other bridesmaids) planned the whole thing - in fact, most elements of it are still a total surprise to me (it this saturday - I can't wait!)
I probably could have given more guidance, preference, help, suggestions, and whatnot, but I decided to leave it in my maids' capable hands, and I'm going in with no expectations - just the excitement to have a ton of fun with some great ladies.
Honestly, being around weddings and so much wonderful inspiraton as brides, I understand the desire to pitch in to make it fit the high standards that the internet has to offer, but I've decided to save these great ideas for when I can throw someone else a shower, and I'm honored that my maids wanted to do it on their own.
Aug8Bride : I'm very happy for you. Sounds like it'll be a blast. I'm quite sure my shower will be fab as for the planning and party part of it. I have nothing to with that and I trust them but when it comes to computers and technology, they're just not that saavy. That doesn't make them any less capable of throwing a party. They just know me and what I like and they asked me to take care of the invitation part. So as I stated I'm happy to help them in that area.

melodicsighs1: This Saturday!! Yay!! I hope you have a super great time with your family and friends and that you get lots of great gifts!!
@ msmonicka: thanks! I've been kinda stalking my registry, so I already know about some of the gifts, but it makes me all the more excited.
