What kinda guy are you marrying?

Rather than engage in any sort of meaning psychological analysis, I thought we'd list 12 massive stereotypes, and describe what they wear and the women they date.

Feel free to mark all stereotypes that apply! So, what kinda guy are you marrying?

ps if you are marrying a woman, please vote on any options that apply!

I love my computer nerd. He may wear t-shirts and jeans, but his jeans are always trendy ones (7 for all mankind, citizens, etc). He dresses very nice for a geek! :)

My guy is a badboy/athlete combo. Although, he's not the leather-wearing badboy, more of the get into trouble/ghetto, bling wearing bad boy. LoL I've tamed him though...took me some years, but he's less of a bad boy now than he was 3 years ago. ::thankgod:: Now he wants to be a boxer (he already recreationaly plays basketball, softball and touch football)...will it ever end?

I'm marrying an artiste, but only I know he's an artiste.  The rest of the time he's a redneck/manly man playing racing games on his PS2 and fixing our motorcycles.

Wooo my vote put Geeks in the lead (for now)!

My FI is definitely part geek, but not in the techie sense. (he did build himself a new computer last year, but that wasn't because he knew what he was doing; it was more an experiment to see if he could). We're both Scrabble-playing, crossword-doing, voraciously-reading word nerds.

He is also part manly-man (but is very self-conscious about the "hairy" part).  I'm the rocker of the two of us -- I will spend any amount of money and travel any distance for a concert that's important enough to me, and I'm the one with the tattoos. He'd never get one, but he likes mine.

I love this post - the options made me crack up. Mr. rasgoola is a combination of all of them - a graphic designer geek with t-shirts from Threadless. He also LOVES the Red Sox and loves going to concerts. Sometimes its like being engaged to three different guys!

My fiance is a mix, which is a good thing. :) He is super sporty and into cars. He went to school for biology and came out with a degree in Information Systems Management and now works with cars. He is the sweetest guy I know and very thoughtful. He can hang out with anyone and have a good itme.

Mine's a mix too. The only two that sort of fit him are 'preppy' ('cause he feels most comfortable in khakis and polos or work shirts) and 'geek' ('cause he's a "computer nerd" as my mom calls him).

Mr. Doctor is a combination of geek (computer programmer who watches Battlestar Galactica) and Farm boy (which I don't see up there).  He doesn't quite fit redneck, because he won't watch nascar, doesn't chew tobacco, and he comes from a very diverse family with very progressive views).

    Mr. Bee, what are you?

@Erisque, mine too...I'm dating a bearded techie...he loves his plaid, but I've gotten him to wear nices shoes/jeans, and now it just makes him look that much cuter...oh, and now he actually cuts his hair regularly...he once went 16 weeks when we first started dating, but now that I schedule his apptmts, he doesn't mind going more often...what a good sport!

My guy is undefined! He's a little bad boy with the leather jacket and a Harley. He's a little rocker-loves music, concerts, etc. He's probably half geek-computer related job, Star Wars fan, Biology major in college, dorky glasses. He's also outdoorsy (not rednick) loves camping, hiking, again-studied stream biology in college, and yes, (begrudgingly) loves nascar. He's also a little athletic-ran track & played tennis in high school and loves football. He's a little manly man but's been known to be very mushy and romantic. He's my guy and I love him exactly the way he is!

I guess geek is closest to him, but he's probably a mix between geek and rocker, as we both love music, and he's not that great at fixing computers-well, at least not compared to one of my previous boyfriends. :D

Mine is the manly man/athlete type.  I was cracking up when I check manly man...hairy and good with his hands, hahaha.  I read it to the hubby and he puffed out his chest, walked away, and was like, yup that's me!

Funny poll, Mr. Bee! My guy is a weird athlete/redneck hybrid. He plays all kinds of sports, but we're from a very rural area and he can pull off a cowboy hat with the best of 'em. No Nascar, though.

Hah.  This is funny.  My guy is a combo between an athlete / preppy !  But mostly he just LOVES any sports and that often consumes his time.  He normally wears jeans and a T but also khaki's and polo.

Mine doesn't really fit into any one or even two stereotypes.  He's a total mama's boy, calls her a few times a week, and she does like me.  He's also a manly-man, handy but not hairy.  He's outdoorsy (we both love camping) but I wouldn't say he's a redneck because he doesn't fish or hunt or watch NASCAR... though he does like paintball and he's into offroad trucks and motorcycles and guns.  I know alot of geeks who love paintball, by the way...

My guy's a non-NASCAR watching, non-paintball-playing, polo-and-khaki-wearing self-proclaimed redneck.  He hunts and fishes, and we both could spend hours on the boat on the river.

I voted geek - my fiance is a mechanical engineer.  He designs robots and military vehicles for a living.  He loves it.  I was between voting for geek and hipster, though - he definitely has tshirts from threadless.  Haha!  Great descriptions, Mr. Bee!

I'm going to say bad boy / manly man.  Though he's a writer and a photog too so maybe we should throw artist in... plus he loves loves loves music.

I love the bad boy in him though.  Sometimes it scares me to think of all the scary things he's done (Jim Carroll and Shannon Hoon are his heros).  But hes cleaned up and I trust him :)

Mine is a rad geek, mama's boy, and preppy.  He plays Madden every night on PS3 and runs a football pool, even though the only sport he plays is tennis.  He does not own a pair of jeans; cords and khakis.  And, he talks to his mom every night.  She asked him if we started "sleeping together" yet in a recent conversation (we've lived together for 2 years).  And, I am the only woman he's "known", answering the question posed in the last sentance.

Props bellanga; we all have our skeletons!

Mr Bee, this is the funniest poll ever. But now YOU have to tell US... what kind of guy did Mrs Bee marry, hmmm???

Sadly, Mr Breezy does not fall into any of these categories. The closest I can think of is if husbands were dogs, mine would be a golden retriever: goofy, handsome and loyal to a fault.

fh is def the bad boy - leather jacket (finally got him a nice wool work coat last year), tattoos, but also an athlete - watches every and any sports team if its related to nfl, mlb, ncaa basketball/football... drives me insane, and also plays hardball, but is also the manly man - i've asked abuot the make up... he says no. NEVER. He's not THAT hairy, but much hairer than most... lol

     This is a fun question!

This is hands down one of the most hilarious polls on weddingbee!

DH is a uber-finance geek, used to be a prepster with popped polo collar (so obnoxious!), now sorta metro guy with ironic t-shirts and designer jeans.

Ever since his birthday when we got him a regulation UMich football helmet, he's been wearing that around the apartment too!

Preppy/Manly Man/Athlete?  An odd combination, but it describes him well. He wears khakis and polos, is very handy, plays some kind of sport every weekend, and thinks the TV can deviate from ESPN only to go to ESPN2. I love him just the way he is!

I'd say I'm marrying a GQ man. He's not really metrosexual, but he takes care of himself. Not preppy, but he dresses well. Not an artiste, but he's cultured and intelligent. I like to think that he's a wonderful example of the modern renaissance man. :)

BTW - the title of this thread cracked me up! It reminded me of old school episodes of Saved by the Bell!
