Our DJ handles the whole thing. They coordinate an intro where our parents walk in first, then the wedding party (to a song we choose) and then our big entrance (to another song we choose). From there we go into our first dance.

Yup, our DJ will be handling things for us too!  I can not wait to come in to that room, that entrance is one of the main reasons for wanting a more traditional reception.  I have been dreaming of that entry for a long LONG time!

We are definately having the intro, the bridal party will come in first then stand around the dance floor to make a circle then me and FI will come in to our intro song then we will have our first dance in the circle.

I think for us, the first dance is really the first dance.. but I’m not sure if that takes place before dinner or not, I’d have to go back and check my info…

We’re doing the traditional entrance as well-entering to various songs that we selected and then immediately starting our first dance. Then toasts and then dinner…

Yes the bridal party will surround us in a circle and watch us dance then we sit down and do the toasts/speeches then dinner music. Here is the list our DJ gave us to fill out for our reception:

Order of introducitons:

Parents of bride

Parents of groom

Bridesmaid escorted by usher

flower girl escorted by ring bearer

maid of honor and best man

Mr and Mrs. Us

Bride and grooms 1st dance

bride and father dance

groom and mother dance

toasts

cake cutting

bouqet toss

garter removal

placement of garter

centerpiece giveaway

Hope this helps!

Oh, we were going to have the bridal party couples have a slow dance together at the same time but it might take up too much time

Yikes, I know we’re going to have an entrance, rather than being in the room already.  But we haven’t gotten anywhere close the actual details of it and we’re less than 3 months out.  Now I will be getting a move on it!

Im actually not planning to do the “formal” bridal party announcement/entrance. I think we will just have our parents walk in and then bridal party and then WE will be announced. Or maybe we wont have our bridal party do an entrance at all.

I’ve never been to any wedding where the couple was announced/introduced at the beginning of the reception. The couples and their families usually walk in with no pomp and circumstance at all but that doesn’t by any means imply that no one likes them. Based on that, we’re not comfortable with the idea of having anything of that nature where the dj makes such an announcement, and our families would think we were nuts. Truth be told, I don’t feel that comfortable watching it on dj demo clips, etc either. But if someone else wants to do that at their wedding, they are more than welcome to do so.
