I'm not superstitious. I'm a little stitious. (ha!)
But seriously, no I wouldn't book on Friday the 13th.
@Bubu82: You think it might be tempting the fates too much? :-P
@KatieJean:I think it just reminds me of those awful Friday the 13th slasher movies. I hate those type of movies! So gory!
You could make a theme out of that ;)
P.S. I am totally not superstitious. I would pick the date if convenient.
@Garnety: Haha Do you think Friday the 13th would go well with our willow trees and sunflowers?? :D
I'd totally book it and I'm 100% superstitous! I just think it's a memorable date and I'd throw in some ironic favors and invites... tehe
I know a girl that booked on that date by accident and then wanted to change it. I told her to keep it, it is a great conversation starter!
I'm not superstitious about Friday the 13th...I'm more about not jinxing stuff. Such as, I didn't even touch a wedding magazine or look at websites until I had my ring. I was afraid I would jinx the proposal by looking at stuff prior to engagement. I am crazy!
Eh, Friday the 13th is only unlucky if either you or your FI happens to be a Knights Templar. Barring that, no worries! I think it is silly to be afraid of a date, if you want to get married then, do it!
@soyjoy222: Haha!! Yes! I was like that, too. I thought by reading wedding sites and 'planning' I was jinxing myself. The second I stopped, my FH proposed... Maybe I was right :P
DH and I started dating on a Friday the 13th, so I consider it lucky! Seriously my 2nd choice for our wedding (we did it at the beach!) would've been a Friday the 13th themed wedding, say in October or something spooky. DH is a HUGE horror fan so it would've fit perfectly.
I say go for it! You obviously don't have to have any touches of spookiness in your theme, but it's still a memorable date!
I'm not superstitious at all. If that was the only open date, I would choose it. But because other people are sperstitious, I wouldn't necessarily want my wedding anniversary to be the 13th. I wouldn't want everyone bringing it up all the time, "OMG, did you know your wedding was on Friday the 13th?!" and then start talking about superstitions. I would get annoyed!
@kperry3: I think I would get a kick out of it. I'm really toying with the idea. The wedding would be earlier than we thought, but mayeb it's right :D
Oh -- and if we go with this day... I think that the first open floor dance at the wedding HAS to be...
my dad was born on friday the 13th!whenever his birthday lands on a friday, something always goes wrong, the presents we buy him are broken, he falls out with my stepmother, or we get double booked at a restaurant we reserved a table at. He always puts its down to friday the 13th, I say its our family name curse!lol Im not hugely superstitious but I know someone who is. Like, over the top superstitious,I dont know how she functions throughout the day, shes always doing stuff to counteract it all!lol
I say book it!

Last night while we were on a viewing, our host mentioned that they still were wide open on Friday the 13th of July of next year. Everyone chuckled a little and my FH and I just looked at each other and said “why?”.
I mean, I KNOW why! But… the 13th has always been a lucky day for me! Maybe we’ll book it, just because we’ll be assured we’re the only wedding there that day, haha!
Are you superstitious? What superstitions do you have that might affect your wedding?
Would YOU book your wedding on… *spooky music* …Friday the 13th?
