I have been obsessing over shoes. I hate two pairs that I bought so far that are unreturnable. Grrr...

I love high heels. But my fiance is two inches taller than me. His shoe will have a little heel. So, I want to wear 2.75-3 inch heels. I can't find any though anyways. I find great 3.5" heels. I need ivory.   Anyone find these mythic shoes for under $100? I have burned through my shoe budget already...So I might consider the 3.5" heels that I love. There are so many in fact.

My bridesmaid said though: Do you really want to bend over for your kiss? But I look much better in taller shoes...

So my point: Who's rocking the heels and is taller than the groom? Share your experiences!!!

With heels on-- I tower over him. I'm 5'9'' and he's a little bit over 5'10''.

On my wedding day I'm going to rock it & wear heels. I wear heels almost every day & always when we go out. I can't imagine changing it up just because we're going to be photographed! I'm a tall girl... everyone knows it... so why hide it?

Stand tall & be proud! There's a reason super models need to be a minimum height of 5'8''... :)

I could wear 6" heels and he'd still be taller than me... Heck I could stack 2 sets of 6" heels and we wouldn't even be eye to eye!

Has anyone else noticed how tall women are always with men roughly the same height as they are & shorter women are always with guys who tower over them?

Well, none of those poll answers fit mine! When I wear heels he's like just a wee bit taller. I don't see eye to eye with him but he's still taller- not towering.

I wouldn't mind if I was taller than my FI, but I'm not, and I'd need pretty tall shoes to get there (I'm about 5' 11'' and he's 6' 3'').  I just never have worn heels in my life, and I'm not going to start anytime soon.  Flats for me!

In my 2 1/2 inch heels, he'll still be a couple of inches taller than me.

I live in NYC, and with all the walking I do (I'm not one to rock the sneakers flip flops to work look), I usually keep my heels around 2 inches.   Very helpful  - since my fiance is two inches shorter than me before I put any shoes on.

I would love to wear colored shoes, but I can't seem to find anything that I love (or even like) in less than a 3 inch!    I tried a three inch heel 'just to see', stood next to him...and we both felt ridiculous.    Who knew that one inch would make such a difference!

Mr.D is over a foot taller than I am, not to mention my bridal party is all at least 4 inches taller than me and most of the groomsmen are over 6 feet tall.  I had to find 4 inch heels so we could all be in the same photos and I won't look like the odd person out. Or in just head shots it won't be my head and everyone elses toroso, neck and head. arg.

My husband is taller than me by about 3-4 inches.  He actually asked me not to wear super tall shoes to the wedding because he "didn't want to look like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes" in our wedding photos. ;)  I wore a pair that were 2 inches tall, much shorter than I might have chosen, so that I could maintain our height difference.

I'm 5'1" on my tall days so idk if I will wear heels--there's no hope of me looking tall so I'd rather be comfy. Flip flops it is!

I'm 5'2 and FI is 5'10 so I'm free to wear what I like but, will probably opt for cute flats for comfort.

I'm about 5'6 and he's almost an even 6 so He'll still have a few inches on me even though I'm shopping for 3-4 inch heels. He never stands up straight though so we'll practically be eye to eye, hehe.

I'm about a 1/2 inch taller than the Mr.  I'm wearing about 2 inch heels though, because I just didn't want to do flats.  Still, they're not too bad, and hopefully with whatever slight heel that his dress shoes have...we'll be where we normally are!

Ditto to Kara. I'm 1/2" taller already, too. I did flat sandals b/c a) comfy b) didn't want to be more of an Amazon woman than I already am. We see eye to eye perfectly and it's more comfortable for me. I hate bending over to kiss him.

We *may* have got him thick-soled shoes...=]

I'm about an inch shorter than FI with no shoes on.  With heels, I'm noticeably taller, but he loves me in heels!  I feel better in heels too, so I decided to rock out my 3.5" heels :)

I'm about three inches shorter than my fiance.  I'm 5'8" and he's 5'11".  Being a relatively tall woman, I'm typically taller than everyone in pictures!  I definitely want to be shorter than him on my wedding day, so I'm going for flats or kitten heels.

EJS - We looked into getting risers for him!

I wore flats and I think it was fine. Generally we're close to the same height. I would have gone for heels if I found the right pair, but I don't normally wear heels and wanted to be comfortable, so I didn't stress over it.

we see eye-to-eye barefoot, so with heels on i'll be about 3" taller! he usually doesn't like heels any higher because then its more obvious that i'm taller. i'll be rockin heels for sure though, no flats for me (at least not until later in the reception ) Wink

Hes about 2 inches taller than me so I'll be opting for ballet flats. I figured that no one can tell how long my legs are under the dress & I won't have to break in any shoes. Perfect solution!

My boy is like 1/2" taller than me.. so any heels and I'm hopeless! Good news is since we're doing a hindu ceremony we'll both be barefoot most of the time :) I just have to worry about reception shoes!

I'm 5'6" and my fiance is 5'7.5" or 5'8".  I'll wear heels at least 3" to 3.5" so I'll definitely be a bit taller than him.  Just because he's a bit short doesn't mean I have to look less fabulous :)  I am trying to convince him to get shoes with a small lift, though.

I'm 5'9'' and he's 5'8'' so I'm already taller. I have not decided on shoes yet, but when I do I will not worry about being taller then my hubby. I'm wearing a short dress and I love how flattering it is for my legs to wear a little heel.

@LatteLove, the awkward bendover kiss! I HATE that! I feel like a mom leaning over to hug her kid or something, so for obvious reasons I hate wearing them around him, although he's starting to get to the point where he LIKES them. As long as I'm not 4" taller anyways.

It is really hard to find flattering dress shoes for cocktail dresses though. Heels just look SO much better. Wedges are a sneaky way to wear dressy shoes that look like they have a heel but are short.

I'm most comfortable in 2"-2.5" heels with him. My 3.5" stilettos only come out on girls night

I'm 5'4" and FI is about 5'5" or 5'6".  In heels I am taller - though he insists that we are the same height...

I was perfectly happy to wear flats and FI said NO - that's important to me - I want you in a great pair of heels..  Uh..Ok  :)

So I bought the shoes we happened upon and I LOVE - and I'm gonna rock it - probably more so because he wants me to!

I am 5'5" and my husband is 5'7".  I brought him in to the bridal shop when I bought my shoes and had him wear the shoes he was going to wear on our wedding day.  I ended up being able to wear 3.5" heels and we were the same height.  It actually looked great in pictures!

Ask him how he feels about it. My best friend wore 2" heels and was about the same height as her husband at her wedding, and they looked great together. She was dead set on not being taller. She always mentioned to me that she didnt want to look like a giant in her pictures. But I say go with whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Psh I'm taller then my fiance if I wear my tennis shoes. They have a really thick sole and then insoles for my arches.

For the wedding, I chose low heels, since no one will see my legs anyway, but for most of our Vegas trip, he'll be staring at my nude, stilletto decked legs.
